Tell me, which Pirates Movie is your favourite?
Discuss. If you haven't seen the third one yet, that's okay. Choose your favourite of the two, or just wait until you see it.

Edit: You have the choice to vote for more than one, in case you like all of them the same amount.

I would say the first one, Curse of the Black Pearl. However, I haven't seen the third one yet.

Dead Men's Chest and At World's End are my favorites:love:

Omg..after the credits. So. Good.
:rotfl:

My speech about POTC movies that no one will care about. :teeth:

Curse of the Black Pearl - I like the plot. It's actually 'lighter' than the other two movies. And Jack Sparrow is hilarious. This movie is my second favourite of the three.

Dead Man's Chest - While I adore the soundtrack to no end, the movie bores me so much, I've fallen asleep while trying to re watch it. So. Yeah.

At World's End - Not only does it have a good plot, but the music is genius. Sure, parts of the scores copy the previous two movies, but new stuff is added to perfectly suit the scene. It has everything that a good movie should have. Action, romance, a GREAT soundtrack, and a plot that keeps you on your toes. (Even though you're sitting.) And an ending that keeps you wanting more.

3. Is. Amazing.

I totally agree! I was thinking the exact same thing about the soundtrack while watching the movie, btw. And the plot was like, "what's coming next, what's coming next!" I usually hate movies that are pretty long (sometimes Harry Potter can be a little 'watch check' for me) but I was bummed when it ended. So yeah, I picked At World's End for my fave :)

CotBP will always be my favorite...

here's how I rank the 3 movies...
1. CotBP
2. AWE (very close to beating CotBP though!)
3. DMC

i chose all 3 (even though i haven't seen the last one yet) just because i did :p

Omg I haven't seen the third one yet but as soon as I do, I will vote. :teeth:

Haven't seen At World's End, but I must say that Curse of the Black Pearl blows Dead Man's Chest OUT OF THE WATER.

I have to say, the first is and will always be the best. It was the lightest (which meant that Captain Jack cold be funny) and it also had th ebest story. It was engaging and at the same time thrilling. It involved aspects of the ride. Everyone always seems to forget that these movies are steeped in theme park tradition.
The second and third movies seem more like part one and part two of one very long movie, rather than part of a trilogy. They seemed almost unrelated to the first in terms of themes. There weren't a whole bunch of links--the plot was unrelated! The first one focused ont he medallions and curse. These focused on the role of piracy in society, the hunger for power, and the quest for immortality. I enjoyed AWE more than DMC, but still, I felt that the story was "rushed" in a sense. It was missing the CHARM of the first film. The third had very little Jack, first and foremost! The storyline lacked adeequate portrayal of the themes and motives. When I saw the third one on Thursday, at times I thought to myself "I didn't come here to watch them kill each other for SO MUCH of the movie." The first film had action sequences, which are necessary in a pirate movie, but still, it was crafted poorly in AWE. Sure these scenes are exciting, but at times, it became a little too overboard. my friends and I actually made fun of the movie as we watched it because it verged on corny in parts.
Luckily, they set up a fourth one, which looks to be a LITTLE better, except for the minor snag that Will...I won't ruin it for those who haven't seen it.
