First, let me say I never intended to rent but I screwed up and made reservations at the end of April and found out it would be impossible to visit at that time so, I moved the reservation to May. But since I had to borrow to book the April trip and the May trip turned out cheaper I ended up with 39 points leftover. So, I listed my points for rent on the rent/trade board here and discovered most people don't need such an odd number of points. I found one person that might be interested. So, I was thinking would it be easier to rent if I booked a studio room at Old Key West Sunday through Thursday night (around Xmas time) and borrow one point to do that? Or should I keep trying to rent out 39 points. I belong to redweek so I could list it there too. I'm confused on the best way to rent my points. Maybe I should just give up and chop it up as a learned experience?

Thanks,
Tina

I bought 45 points two months prior to my Use Year a couple of years ago. I ended up renting to two people who each wanted 14 point nights. I rented One day to one (14) and three days to another (42) For the three day one, I borrowed some points to do the whole three days.

It worked out fine. If I ever had to do it again, I would just post that I would be willing to split the points up to individual days, will consider all replies, may be able to borrow a small amount to cover a gap and would use the configuration that would use up the most points.

Good luck!

It is 13 points per night in a studio Sunday through Thursday at BCV, BWV, or VWL during Dream Season (Feb 1-15, May 1-31, June 1-10 or Aug 15-31). You could make a 3 night reservation for someone at these resorts during these dates. Annmarie

If you are willing to borrow a few more points to make the rental easier, then I'd post that you have 39 to 50 or so points to rent, that way if someone needs 40 or 44 or whatever, you could accomodate them. Depending on when your use year begins, you may not be able to make a Christmas ressie.
