and proud of it! A friend and I attended the Figment & Annual pin Events last week. Since we were getting in late on Wednesday, we decided to stay at a value (Pop Century) before checking into a 1BR at BWV. Never again and this is why:
. Size does matter and I swear the bathtub/toilet area is smaller than in a DVC studio.
. No ceiling fan
. No sleep button on the remote (I like to fall asleep with the TV on).
. Bed was wayyy too soft
. Housekeeping Issue As Im walking around I remark to my friend that my sock kept sticking to the floor by the nightstand. There was a hard to see sticky spot (because carpeting was dark). So I took a piece of paper and wrote sticky spot and put it on the floor. Twofold reason it kept our socks from sticking and it alerted the housekeeping staff.
. People can talk all they want about the long walk to the rooms at BWV (and since I had Room #2135 beginning the next day I know of what I speak) BUT give me a long walk in an air conditioned/heated hallway any day. The hot, steamy walk to our Pop Century room was no fun.
I know there are Pop Century fans. If you like the rooms, great! I dont. I was supposed to stay there for one night in December (before we move to BWV) but will be canceling. There will be two friends traveling with me and all I can think is that we will kill each other before our vacation begins. Im thinking off property.
Except for it being very hot and steamy, we had a great time and we did make another observation. There have been posts on the generalizing of menus. Add drink menus to the list. You can now get a Kungaloosh at Cape May. One of my favorite drinks is the roller coaster at the BW pool. It is no longer on the menu. They have the same pina colada that they serve at Cape May. This is sooooooooooo wrong! The only place a Kungaloosh should be served is at the Adventurers Club. Bring back my Roller Coaster! If I wanted a plain old pina colada (although its called something like Pina Colava at both places), Id go off property or stay home.
Room at BWV was perfect. No food left, no hair in the bathroom, no mildew (okay, maybe a bit but it wasnt enough for me to bother with). People were friendly and one of the desk clerks made my day. I had shipped my pins down (all 30 lbs worth). When I checked in, Lolitha told me the package was down at Screen Door. I said Id probably open the package down there since it was a rolling backpack and bring it up that way (no way could I carry a 30 lb package). Well, lo and behold, when we finally got into our room later that day, my package was sitting on the kitchen table. Letter is going to Disney about her and some other CMs who definitely spread the magic.
One final thought you know youve been to Disney too much and have bought wayyy too much when Helen, the shipping clerk, at BWs convention center, knows you and brings out the baby pictures to show how much her daughter has grown.
