Okay, how do you make magnetic Mickey ears for the doors?

I saw in a recent trip report where the OP had turned her little circle on the door into a mickey head with magnetic ears. How do you make the ears and how do you make them magnetic? they were so cute!

TIA!

I print out my door signs on magnetic printer paper, but others will have theirs laminated and then put strips of magnets on. Magnetic paper can be found at most office supply stores or online. Then just cut the ears out.
One word of caution: use an inkjet printer NOT a laser printer.

AWESOME! Thanks so much, disneyfanatic3166, for the link to that post! I am definitely "craft-challenged," even for something that would seem as simple as a couple of Mickey Mouse ears! The pattern will be immensely helpful! :cool1: You have made my day!

And, a BIG THANKS also goes to disneycrazzzy for the original pattern! :thumbsup2

Just goes to show ya once again that DISers are the BEST! :goodvibes

Thanks...

BTW, Michael's has this really cool scrapbooking Disney paper for 10 cents a piece that are awesome for door signs...I'll post pics tonight!

Just letting you know that disneycrazzy did the ears for our door and they were just out of construction paper. It was such a fun treat! She was the sweetest....she just did it as a suprise, we didn't know about it until we realized that everyone's door didn't look like that!

Enjoy your cruise!!!

I remember seeing a photo of someone's door here on the DIS boards with the Mickey Mouse ears, but can't remember where it was. Would someone be so kind as to post a pic here for us all to see? :Pinkbounc

See earlier post to link of Mickey Ears to print for your own....

...and your welcome for the magnets on the August 19th cruise and for posting the picture of the ears for printing. I had fun putting them on everybody's door. Too bad I got caught and now everybody knows where they came from...it was supposed to be anonymous....just every door for every DISer I knew of suddenly sprouted Mickey Ears. I would have made them all out of magnet paper, but it would have cost me big $$$. I found scrapboarding paper at WalMart cheap and I already had strip magnets. I made 80 pairs. Boy was my hand tired after cutting them all out!! It was a sight to behold on the ship and worth it!

Oh my goodness, Anna! Your door was AWESOME! I'll bet you had a blast getting everything ready for it! Thanks so much for posting the photo! :goodvibes

Wow, how amazing! :thumbsup2

Hi DisneyCrazy,

Wow, that's quite a door! Where do store all that stuff! <BG> Thanks for posting your door pic with the Mickey ears. Thanks to my favorite forum members here I made a Christmas door magnet for our cruise last year on RCCL (everyone including the staff really liked it as they had never seen anyone do such a thing before). But, I was definitly needing something to make this year's DCL cruise a step above what I did last year, so I think adding the Mickey ears would be perfect. Maybe I'll add a Santa hat to it also since we'll be sailing in December. :) Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing the pictures of the ears--such a cute idea! We'll probably use it on our upcoming cruise. I always tell people, I have no original ideas, but I copy like crazy! ;) It's funny how there just seems to be something extra fun about Disney lovers! :disrocks:

I bought some sheets of foam in navy blue from Micheals and cut it into Mickey ears and put the magnetic strips on the back.

.....and I did mine in black felt (glued to some construction paper and strip magnet stuck on the back).

Don't forget to go to your local Home Depot where they have paint chips in the shape of Mickey Ears for all of the DISNEY colors!!! I got about two of each color and cut them out and used sticker letters to create some of my door decorations ...

we sail Thursday so i'll be sure to post my decorations!!
