Advice. We are getting ready for what could turn out to be one of the biggest pin meets in history... 4 days of trading... I have seen a few posts about sizes of collections and hunts for holy grails on not just this board but others as well... I think we should also be aware of good trading practices... I would offer this thread to all of you to post what you do to protect yourself and your pins...
One thing to do is make sure you keep a sharp eye on your trader book(s). Remeber while you can ask a friend to watch your books they are there to trade as well and are busy watching their books.
Also try and only trade with one person at a time... This also works in reverse. If you see some one trying to trade just let them know you are intrested in trading with them as soon as they are done with this person. I get mad when I'm trying to trade wit someone and someone else jumps in to the middle of a trade and trys to get a pin or I'm working on... It is going to be a long event... 4 days is a long time to trade...
Another is to always ask for some advice if your unsure. Not all trades are going to be fair or equal. I have made trades that I have gotten some great pins for what I would consider easy to get pins. I have also made some trades that cost me great pins for what some consider easy or bad pins... ... I know there are going to be "Sharks" there and trust me the bad ones are easy to spot... And not all "Sharks" are bad... I have made most of my best trades with them. Remember it is easy to say "No Thank You" when you feel pressured. Trade for what you want and be prepared to give up some pins... You think we all have the same pins... Wait till you are sitting next ot 500 people with the same pins...
The most important thing to remeber is this is fun... If you come away with nothing but great storys and a few pins... Then you probably had a great time...
Anyone else have any CONSTRUCTIVE thoughts on how to make this a safe and fun event
