Saturday....
We pack up and check out by 1030... and are in the parking lot of TTC by 11. Around 1130 Cynthia calls and askes what the plan for the day is... I reply we are already up and out. She said, I thought today was a pool day... on the itinerary it says today is a pool day. Ummm yes, it does say that, but it also says our day was suppose to start at 10 am... it is now 1130. If you had called before you were slated to show up at 1000 (nothing like a person who is late calling after they are already late to say they will be late... )you would know the plans changed. And since we are fine on our own, why dont you two just hang out at the pool and we will see you at the airport tonight. She is miffed.
The night before I asked the girls to think of 2 rides each they wanted to do, tomorrow. I was nervous since it was a Saturday AND we wouldnt be getting to the parks until 11ish... I figured we would ride their first choices and if we can sneak anything else in we will... We grab FP for Space mountian (Maddies first choice) and head over to the Merry go round (Abigails first choice) Boy falls asleep, DH takes the girls on the ride, while I pop into TInks shop and buy more beads for the crown (see tip above). We head back over to Tomorrowland and rode both buzz and TTA before our SM Fast passes were active. DH takes Abigail and Charlie on Buz again and Maddie and I do SM twice in about 20 mintues (using DH and Abigails FP for the second lap)We eat lunch at Pecos while taking the long way around to Aladins carpets. AC was second on both the girls list. Worked out well. TIP you are assigned numbers so dont pick out a PINK carpet, coz you have no choice on color... we lucked out and got the pink carpet (number 6)Whew.
After the carpets we had time for one more ride. We choice Pirates. Girls were less than thrilled but I love that ride! (Disneylands version is better though)
We head off to the airport.... C&D are there before us! Imagine that!
FLight home was uneventful... But sad. I kept thinking how I nice it will be to get home and then I remember that home isnt finished... and I was going back to the box.... ick.
Overall it was a great trip. We learned a lot...
We are comando park tourers, works well for us.... we dont mind zig zagging as long as we are moving, gotta keep the kids moving... but we only hit the parks a couple of times a trip, so our vacations are a nice mix of go go go and just hanging out.
F&W fest/Jellyroll are best left for adult only trips!
Grand gathering system needs work.
Never let time delusional idiots ruin your trip.
Despite the problems caused by our friends lateness this was a great trip. Lots of firsts... MG Fireworks cruise, Abigail hitting the 40 inch mark, IllumiNations cruise, hanging with Tina (who helped me joke about my friends and get thru this with a good attitude)The kids and US, HHN, Jellyrolls, Eric, everything. Just wonderful. I love Disney and I find it easy to let things go there. Although my friends pissed me off beyond belief the feeling only lasted a little while. Life is to short to stay upset at TDI's. But I am afraid this trip will be remembered as the Time delusional idiot trip for a while.
I cant wait for our next trip!
