I know fuel prices remain high, but I can't believe SWA continues to show their best RT fare between Kansas City and Orlando as $318 + fees/taxes. Ouch.

Is airfare to Orlando cheap for your city in May?

I booked SW about two weeks ago for Memorial Day weekend from Philly to Orlando. Paid $353.00 for two round trip tickets with all taxes. My DH just booked Delta from Lexington, KY, to Orlando (long story, he just took a new job) yesterday for $166 roundtrip with all taxes. On Monday, the same flight from Lexington was $215. Keep checking every day. The fares change all the time.

I booked my May trip in January, Independence Air out of Washington, DC. Paying $116 roundtrip, non-stop. pretty good!

Dang, we're getting clobbered. SWA is the only airline that offers non-stop service to Orlando and they're acting like it.

I have seen some at 150.01 each from Milwaukee-Orlando .. on Midwest Express direct. But I am not going till Nov.

I don't know about May, but I never get good fares to come up for SWA. I wanted to fly in Feb and their tix were going for $178 one way from albany ny to MCO before any taxes/fees. Too steep for me. Jet blue was worse, $299 one way from Syracuse to MCO or TPA.

I am hoping for better luck for next yrs trip!

A lot can depend on the day that you're flying. Have you checked Wednesday flights? They're usually not as full and easier to get better fares on. SWA out of PHL is running between $79-$99 One-way. That's not as good as the $49 one-way fares that they had over the winter but it's the beginning of vacation season, so I'm not surprised.

I am also flying out of KC. I have checked everyday of the week and the prices remain high.I noticed if I decide to fly mid Aug the airfare starts to get cheeper. Right now it is 154.00 one way on SWA!
Other airlines are cheeper but I can not get the time of the day I want to leave. To get the times I want the airfare startes to creep up in price.
The Airfare price will is the deciding factor for our trip this summer.

We didnt save a dime on our flight! We paid 261.00 (tax included)per person!
Continental non stop from Cleveland, Ohio.
This is more than we paid last year.

$99.00 a night for our room....last year $56.00!!
I sure would like a general code for our room! This trip wasnt supposed to be a budget trip! We are not going next year so we were going to do it right this year!!

Looks like more over time at work for me! It will be worth it!
( I keep telling myself)

I am a travel agent..and I checked for you also..from kansas city, mo
you are looking at about $180.00 rt on midwest, depending on when you are going in may

::MickeyMo Hi there! Where in NY are you? I have also been checking airfare out of Syracuse and Albany (as well as Rochester, etc.) but finding fares to be too high. I am located in Herkimer County. When we flew to WDW last September we got a fairly good deal out of Rochester on Airtran. :) We usually use Syracuse and US Air but too high now. :confused3 If you find any good deals for May, please let me know! Thanks!! Rebecca

Also, with the fuel prices going up, you may want to grab a price if you can pay it. I work at an FBO (we sell airline fuel) and we have seen major jumps in the cost of fuel. I got my tickets yesterday because I was afraid the price was going up. I was right. It went up $30 a ticket 4 hours after I purchased.

The rumors we are hearing is that the fuel prices will stay up for a while. Of course the airlines will pass that on to their customers.

Good Luck!

FYI---we are flying out of Kansas City in June. We got Airtran for $206 roundtrip.

American Airlines is having a fare sale.
