Okay, added on 50 points and now having some buyers remorse. Help.

So, I hemmed and hawhed about adding another 50 pts to our first contract of 250. Everyone on the boards said "Do it". Well, I went ahead and did it and now I am not sure that I did the right thing.

For some reason, the extra $4700 has seemed to push me over the edge. Maybe I should have just done 25 pts. I paid cash and I don't really need to worry about the money, but when you add it all up, it seems astronomical!!!!

Please tell me, have I done the right thing, or should I call and have it changed? We are a family of five that will probably always book a 2 bedroom, so I don't see a problem with being able to use the points. I just need to get over the stickershock.

This is reason I shouldn't do sums.

My Guide is going to hate me if I call again :teeth:

I am planning to add 50 points too, and I figure I can always rent out my points to make myself feel better. I am not sure how it works as far as how long you have to cancel? But, if you always need the points, I don't think you'll regret it.

I always second guess myself on major decisions.

On the bright side, at least you have all the points you currently need.:cool1:

We're still waiting to finalize our DVC portfolio (like how that sounds LOL).

DH has dug in, waiting for the CRV to materialize. Hope it's not too long, or he gets sick of moving around on vacation. Gets old very quickly trying to juggle points around.

Since you paid cash and said the money isn't a problem, I would just consider it a done deal. The price of points will continue to rise, so if you cancel now and buy later you will be spending more for those 50 points. It will be nice to have the points available for those 2 bedroom units. If you need to, you can rent the extra points.

I always get uptight and second guess myself when spending large amounts of money or making major decisions, no matter what it is for. I just know that is my personality.

If money is no problem just enjoy your new points.

I think you will feel better once you use the points for a trip and realize that you won't be running in the red - point wise.

Forget the buyers remorse/guilt... sure sticker shock is a bummer but more points is a lovely gift for the family. Enjoy it.

Good Morning all! Thank you so much for the encouraging words. I feel so much better about it after a full nights sleep. I am past the sticker shock and am once again feeling the excitement of taking our first trip "home".

Just wish it wasn't until February :teeth:

Man, we are never satisfied, are we? :rotfl2:

A couple years from now, when points are $10 more per, you'll sit back & think "What was I stressing about? I'm so glad I got them."

We stress over big purchases too. If you were buying points instead of paying your car payment or electric bill then I'd tell you to back the truck up. Since you are not....

Enjoy!

:woohoo: :yay: :cheer2: :bounce: party:

Hey, seriously, if you weren't very cautious and careful about such a big purchase, then you wouldn't be very responsible, eh?

It's a lot of money and having second thoughts is only normal, prudent. If you've run the numbers and you know what makes sense for your family, then try to relax and enjoy! THere's no real downside anyway because with the way that Disney has propped up the resale market, you could always sell if you needed to.

Congrats on your purchase! You'll love life at SSR! We do!! :cool1:

It's worth it just for the dreams I have of being able to take our little princess: there! Warms my heart -- always.
