About 2 offices down from me is the loudest person on the planet. He is constantly on personal calls, which I hope means he won't make his billables and won't be around much longer. All I hear is his annoying, booming voice and his ear-splitting laughter. He's constantly saying "Yeah, yeah..." and laughing like the other person on the line is deaf!

So....who else is bringing headphones to work next week?!?!?!

Yes, my boss and one other guy. We are in cubicles so it is pretty bad. My boss has his own office, yet he persists on putting EVERYONE on speakerphone and shouting. The other guy is just hard of hearing but doesn't know it.

I will take loud voice over toe-nail clipping anyday

One of my coworkers and I have been asked to pipe down a few times. Our laughter is raining on people's parades.:teeth:

:o Me, too!:o

But I never put anyone on speakerphone - I think that's just plain rude!

And as the boss..... I just .....

;)

The office can't understand how I can joke and kid around on deadline day..... I've tried explaining to them that it's either laugh or cry.....:p

this is one thing I've NEVER understood.
I can see whipping out the clippers to fix ONE ripped/jagged nail. But to start clipping ALL of them?

do it at HOME people!!!

and I wear headphones all the time...otherwise, forget it...

"chip guy" should be back any minute with his 2 bags of chips he eats everyday for lunch. he's not a quiet eater either.

Oh, yes. Years ago, the young lawyer who officed next to me was the loudest person on the planet...I felt really bad because I (unintentionally) knew EVERYTHING going on in her life. Years have passed, she moved to a different floor and last week she moved back next to me again. But now she keeps her door closed all the time...someone must have told her, or else she figured it out on her own!

As for nail clipping, I have one story: I was a first year lawyer, sent to some other lawyer's office to "defend" my client at a depostion. As I was sitting in his reception area all prim and proper in my little navy suit, I looked down and regretted that I hadn't shined my shoes. Well, the other lawyer turned out to be this major Texas good ol' boy who sat there and cleaned his fingernails with a huge knife the whole time!

I have one of those in my office. A few weeks ago my PC was broken so I had to sit in a cube on the other side of the wall from this guy for about 2 weeks. Every call he took was on speaker phone. He'd even call people a few cube over on speaker so I got to hear him in stereo  . It got to the point that I started yelling things over the wall like "oh, that was so funny" or "my how clever you are". I know, I know, very mature :o . I got me through the day though and he actually did tone it down a bit.

I feel your pain.

My office is in a small office building and the guy in the office across the hall is so loud you can hear him 3 floors below. He has a huge ego, seems to think he is doing the world a favor by letting everyone hear every syllable he utters, and his favorite letter of the alphabet is "I".

My co-worker who sits RIGHT BEHIND ME is like that. He is sooo loud. Luckily he was on vacation this week. I actually got some work done since I wasn't distracted by his yelling all the time.

We have offices and the lady who used to be next to me (until she took another job last month) was like that. I really liked her but she was so loud on the phone it got on my nerves. I knew more about her private life that I really cared to know.

Yeah, a guy (plumber) whom sits caddy corner from me got a phone from a client that a natural gas line was missing from the drawings. Right after the phone conversation ends, I hear a profanity laced tirade about how he doesn't have all the information, and he never makes mistakes .... Then he walks into my cubicle and repeats the whole issue. All of it said in his "loose cannon" fashion. I swear, three hours later he asked me why some people don't like him. I'm like "Dude some people just don't know how to react to you."

I like reading the posts in this thread and I understand Monkeyboys thing about nail clippers.:D

We have a whistler. I mean, honestly. Who whistles in a cubicle environment? It's just rude. And the people to my right are always having very loud phone conversations. Yesterday I got the scoop first when one of the women's children went in the toilet for the first time.

I work with this guy's sister. Constantly on the phone all day long with friends/family. Once in awhile it is business. She is constantly on the internet too. Totally frustrating. Her boss does nothing.
