I just can't make up my mind!

I'm looking at the Wilderness Lodge, either Woods or Courtyard view, a tower room at the Contemporary, or a standard view room at the Boardwalk Inn. The price difference between the high end (CR Tower) and low end (WL, woods) of these rooms is about $770.

We are a family of four, DH and I, DS - 9 yrs and DD - 5 yrs. I've stayed at WL in a woods view room before, haven't stayed at the other two. Rest of family hasn't been to any of these. I like that WL has a kid's club on site, the Contemporary is so convenient to the MK, and that the Food and Wine festival will be at EPCOT during our stay (late Oct 2005) - so the BWI would be nice for that. I think DH would love the theme of the WL (I do like it too) but I think the BWI looks beautiful.

I'm driving myself crazy. I'd love to hear what you/your family prefers out of these and why. Any insights, pros, cons would be appreciated.

Thanks so much :)

Well, we couldn't decide for our August trip. We're going with some crazy friends so we're going to live out of our suitcases -- one night at Saratoga Springs, two nights at Wilderness Lodge Villas, then two nights at Boardwalk Villas. I'd be torn if I were you, too! Not sure how long you're going, but if it's for a longer stretch, maybe choose two hotels? While it seems like a pain to change, Disney will move your luggage for you, and it would make two areas of the world easier. With kids, I'd probably do a shorter stay at Contemporary (ask for an MK view room) to get the easy MK access, then the rest at Boardwalk for the ease of Epcot and MGM, especially with Food & Wine going on.

Wilderness Lodge is my favorite hotel, but it's a little tougher with kids because you always have to rely on a bus, boat or car. There's nowhere to walk easily.

Good luck with your decision though. I can see why you'd be having a hard time!!!

Have you looked into the possibility of renting points to stay at BWV? October daily point totals for a standard view studio are as low as 9 points (or $90)/night for Sun-Thurs, 21 points (or $210)/night for Fri/Sat.

It would be plenty of room for your family and offer you a kitchenette to save $$ on breakfast or just to keep some drinks cool for you.

We've enjoyed BWV so much we'll be going back in Jan 06. Its proximity to Epcot and Mgm can't be beat! :) Plus they also have the kids club right over at YC/BC so it is not far at all. Our family walked over to Beaches & Cream a number of times on our last trip, took up between 5-10 mins at most.

GL with your trip planning! :)

just be aware, the food & wine festival is in october and it is hard to get rooms at BWV and BCV for this reason...especially studios as members snatch these up pretty quick.

we are BWV owners and LOVE it!

You all have good ideas. We actually hope to buy into DVC in the future, I can see why it would be hard to get a BWV during the Food and Wine festival time.

I should have mentioned that we don't want to split a stay. We've done it in the past but with young kids and all it really seemed to burn up a lot of premium time! I think I'm going to have to decide and stick with one resort this time. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I accidentally have two threads on this subject. Seems like all my choices are getting votes! This is the hardest part of planning a vacation to me.
