Who are these self righteous people who are blasting and flaming the women who were brave enough to voice their opinion about the fact that motherhood can be hard at times???

UGH this one woman is making me so angry!!

She is sitting there so full of herself and spouting about how blissful and wonderful her life is and how everyone who complained about motherhood being a challenge is a bad mom~!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

SO she had a great labour she said " Litterally I pushed once or twice and there was a baby" well LAHH DE DAH My first labour was 49 1/2 HOURS!!!! Why cant she just accept the fact that some people dont breeze through everything like she apparently does?

Methinks someone has been into the happy pills. ;)

I'm sorry thats being judgemental but motherhood is hard YES IT IS I dont care who you are you are GOING TO HAVE A BAD DAY SOMETIMES and it is PERFECTLY OK to talk about that!!! NO ONE says, " You know? It's ok! You ARE NOT a freak if you feel like you want to throw in the towel sometimes"
And Frankly I think it needs to be said

I think that's OK to talk about. I think it NEEDS to be talked about!! I think people need to validated. UGH
OK Im done now I think.

It just fries me when people get so high and mighty.

I watched it! That woman who said everything was great all the time, she needs DR PHIL!!! No one has it that good, ever! She sure didn't look too happy!!!!!!

Motherhood is NOT happy ALL the time! Nothing is GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!!

I too was getting angry at all those self-righteous people on todays show!!!!! Can't wait to watch the After Show!

I watched it. I was fuming!!
That lady who said she never had any bad days, or days when she wanted to lock the door and hide was full of crap!!

I agree with everything you said, too, binny! I'm glad Oprah is getting women to talk about this!!

I didn't watch but agree with everything you said - its hard work, about four times harder than my "day" job. I really think that people like that make those people who need help afraid or ashamed to ask for it, because "well, everyone else can handle it". Then we end up with abused and even dead kids.

I saw it too. I agree, that lady must be on funny pills. Motherhood is tough work and there are days when it's the pitts. For her to deny that...Well, I feel she's one of those kind that doesn't want to share their feelings with anyone. But to sit up there and act so superior to the other moms, why do that? Can't we be more supportive of each other????:(

TC:cool:

Pembo that's exactly what I thought! She must be in some serious denial and Dr. Phil can snap her out of it. I missed both shows but will catch them the next time they are on.

I watched too and was very angry at the woman who said "it was all wonderful." Then I realized, she's 45 years old and her experiences were 20 years ago, she has had the benefit of many years washing away the bad moments (and if she agreed she wouldn't be sitting on the Oprah show ;)) The others are all either going through it now with young children or have gone through it recently. Someone should have pointed that out to her. I for one don't believe she never felt like those other moms at least once, I know I did.

I caught a few minutes and saw the segment where they followed the mom of a 17-month old and the 12-day old. Wow - did that bring back memories! (thankfully, mine are 2 1/2 years apart!) I can well remember those days, and there are times that I wish I were still in them (well - not very often!). Looking back, the days were long, but the years flew by! (I can say that having a 22-year old and a 20-year old!)

I saw the beginning of the show.... but after seeing that woman, I decided not to waste my time. It must be nice to be perfect or at least have delusions of being perfect!;) ;)

Woman against woman, mom against mom, that's what this show was about.

OOOOOOh that sounds like it would have chapped my hide!

I am childless by choice but I still managed to figure it out that being a parent isnt all peachy. Why couldnt that woman figure it out? Why cant ANYONE figure it out? Head in the sand, maybe? Like I often say, "Da Nile aint just a river..."

I am glad women are starting to admit motherhood isnt all peachy keen. This way, whenever anyone asks me, "But WHY dont you want a child???" , I can point to people like these women and say, "I dont want THAT to be ME!"

I don't have kids, but I have never met someone who says motherhood is all bliss all the time. She who said that would be on serious drugs.

I have seen so many of my girlfriends having to run home to pick up their kids, who were in tears when they can't find a babysitters, who just sometimes cannot deal with the pressure altogether. All my mom friends says workplace is zen for them. It's all relaxed, structured, like a spa. If one is having it easy, well, good for her. But that just cannot be the truth.

I'm sure if you're Madonna or Cher, then you can have a million nannies, and don't really have to deal with dirty diapers while running to work.

I don't know where this woman comes from. I'm glad she only remembers the good times. But it'll be very irresponsible to say motherhood is all jolly, otherwise bad mother. It really is not.

As I TRIED to hear the show, I was making dinner, doing laundry, helping my 8 y.o. do his homework while he had a breathing treatment, explaining to my 5 y.o. why she couldn't go out front by herself, trying to keep my 4 y.o. quiet during homework time and answering the phone to listen to my m-i-l tell my f-i-l what he was doing wrong, etc... So, YES, it can be difficult even on a good day. And I agree, that woman must have some kind of superiority complex! To say that she was NEVER overwhelmed?! Please! Give me a break!

The women who said that everything was easy and wonderful all of the time will be appearing on Oprah again soon......... on a special about pathological liars!
I liked what Oprah said about doing a show on marriage so that all the women out there who have a romanticized idea of marriage could get a reality check too. ;)

I just caught a few minutes of it but when she said she was NEVER SLEEP DEPRIVED when her child was a NEWBORN you knew she was a pathological liar!
