The price per point with be whatever the going price is of AKV and SSR or anything else for sale at the time.. Whether 120 140 or 160 per point, we will see what the market does. ..and how long it takes to come out.
It is the points per night that will be higher. I also think they will do some concierge as it is a sold out category in AKV, and it makes sense for another high end option.
I would think that the would be about 5-7 points more per night than BLT .. say standard to standard and the Conc would be another 5-8 points more than that.

There will be a good portion of current DVC members that will DEFINITELY add on, and there will be a whole new crowd of people who 'only' stay at the Grand Floridian that will look at DVC that had never even considered it before.
If you wait a few years after it opens, it will be selling for MUCH less resale.
BLT is currently selling for $140 direct and is clearing ROFR in the low to mid-80's -- with one sale clearing at $66.25 in the last month.![]()

Yeah I agree with other posters - the price of AKV and SSR will NOT be the same as the Grand Floridian (if it is actually built!)
The price jump on BLT would have been an indicator for a monorail resort - it will be higher than $140. I think they would do the Grand Floridian a little differently. While there was a significant jump in terms of point pricing and point allocation - I think they may actually DROP the point allocation for the Grand Floridian, but increase the price paid per point. What will DVC have lost in lowering the allocation, raising the price per point, and leaving the booking window at 7 months out for what promises to be a DVC property that is smaller in comparison to all of the other DVC resorts except the Villas @ Wilderness Lodge. There will be a good portion of current DVC members that will DEFINITELY add on, and there will be a whole new crowd of people who 'only' stay at the Grand Floridian that will look at DVC that had never even considered it before.
So what is there to be said for a lower allocation?
DVC/DVD gets more money up front on a small resort, and the 'exclusive' feel of the resort is maintained by keeping the price per point higher than ever before and the maintenance fees will be on par with Bay Lake Tower.
I don't know, it's a possibility!
I am still waiting on news of a tiered benefits program AND online booking!!!
I'm not going to hold my breath on either of those, the rumors have been around a long time - and those who were holding there breath are now purple and blue lying on the floor!![]()
We were just there and everyone I asked denied it
