Have just cast my line, with a tiny bit of bait, now lets see if DH takes it. It's all in the sales pitch with him. Let's see if I can reel him in Disers, lets just see....

mwahahahahaha I am evil :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh good luck Ms Shuttergirl !!

My DH asked me very seriously on the weekend if, after this WDW trip, could we please agree to start spending some money on the house instead of trips (which admittedly does really need it). I know he is right but it is going to be so hard for this travel-dreaming Mum!! :scared1:

marriage is a bit like survivor........outwit, outlast,outplay......

thats my motto re getting DH onboard re travel...or anything really:thumbsup2

you just have to make it so he thinks its his idea........works every time....

can i now direct you to my countdown ticker.....................................

Karen, that made me laugh out loud. That is totally how I see it. I generally let him think it's his idea. This time, I know he will want to say yes, I just need to make it easy for him to, that's all.

Looking at your many trips, you clearly are an expert at this :lmao:

Well I have only done the beginning hints of what will be the sales pitch. He won't even know where this little piece is heading, its just the foundation for the "building" :rotfl2:.

I'll reply in more detail a bit later, gotta run right now. Back later.

No PIO, there was DEFINITELY NOT A BLACK NEGLIGEE. Ewwwwww. I don't want a trip that bad I can assure you :rotfl2::rotfl2:

hey

I cant take credit for my abilities.....it was my late mother-in-law who passed on many years of wisdom on how to handle her son.....

1. whatever you buy, halve the price...he wont know:thumbsup2
2. food & other things:hug:covers all ills
3. smile, nod and let him assume it was his brilliant idea & that I wouldn't have thought it up in a million years:rotfl2:
4. never ever talk money, politics, kids when he's hungry/tired/cold.

She was a fantastic lady, one of a kind....miss her so much, and I have her to thank not only for her words of wisdom but her fantastic son:lovestruc

She must have been right.....we are up to 21 years and counting

She sounds like a great mother-in-law. I have a pretty great MIL too, she always taught me to have a bank account in my own name, called the Running Away from Home Account. For those days when you just need to get away and have a breather away from those annoying husbands, she meant her husband and my son :lmao:.

Well I thought I should update you. I have pulled my "fishing line" out of the water for now because my FIL's health has taken a bit of a turn for the worst and we really need to be focusing on this at the moment, not a trip. FIL has been battling cancer for 2 1/2 yrs and at times it's been easy to forget he has terminal cancer, he just seems in such good health, except for tiredness. We live in Canberra and they are in Victoria so we don't get to see him as much as we would like but we make our way down there every 8 weeks or so. We have just found out that all forms of treatment are now no longer helping so things are very much up in the air as to how much time we will have together.

So for now, a trip is on hold which is ok, we will get another trip one day for sure. For now we'll just put the idea to the side and focus on family.
