OK, so really...how bad is the Sci-Fi?

We enjoyed it very much our last trip. We are planning on visiting again during the week of Christmas. I already have reservations booked. Can't wait... Milk shakes great...My only complaint is it is a little dark inside but that is due to the large TV screens.

We liked Sci-Fi for lunch! On our most recent trip, however, we were on the dining plan, so we felt compelled to use our TS credits at Sci-Fi for dinner, and order dinner-priced entrees. We really didn't like our dinner there very much - and we felt like we would get more value (and better food) for our TS credits at many other restaurants (Garden Grill, Ohana, Liberty Tree, for example!) But I would go back for lunch if we're not on the dining plan - the lunch food is good, the cars are fun, and it's a fun break in the middle of the day!

We love Sci Fi - onion rings are favs of mine, all our food has been good. Good service too. Fun place to eat!!

Youve gotta decide for yourself. People trash H&V and its just fine, people dont like dole whips or chef mickeys or CRT or whatever. You gotta remember, that even if 10 people had a bad experience in a restaurant on any given day, that restaurant may have served 500 guests or more; people are more likely to comment if theyre unhappy than not. That has to be the hardest thing about the boards, is that I've changed ADR's based one what I've seen, then next time did it anyway and loved it. You just have to decide for yourself!

It is pretty bad!
We were there in June. Food was not that good, long long long wait, Air conditioner set to freezing. We were putting our french fries on our arms to try and stay warm (just for grins :)). We won't be going back.

I totally agree with luvstigger80. Decide for your self. The atmosphere is special by itself so take a chance. We enjoyed it.

We ate there during our last trip. My DH and I both got the rueben. It wasn't bad, but not at good as the one we get from Jason's Deli at home. We all loved the movie clips, but our youngest DS became a little upset they didn't show an entire movie. We all loved sitting in the cars, but my DH. He wears about a 5XL and he felt squished in the car. If we went again, I would ask not to sit in a car to make him more confortable. It's one of those places that I'm glad I tried. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, but I wouldn't dread eating there either.
The best part was our waitress. She was great with the boys. They loved getting the driver's licenses from sitting in the front seat. When the couple that was in the back row was done eating, she teased them and tried to get my boys to pay for it b/c they were "driving". She was really good to know when to stop teasing them b/c my youngest started taking her seriously.

We were there last week and enjoyed it. My dad had a reuban and loved it. DH and I had burgers and those were pretty good. I ordered mine medium well and it came out medium, super pink around the edges. The waitress took it back and said "I'll have them make you a new one." When she brought it back out she reiterated that they made a new one. They did not. When I got the burger the first time, I started breaking off edges for DD to eat, those edges were missing on my "new" burger.

The onion rings were fab and so was the cherry vanilla coke. We will still return to Sci-Fi, but probably not for the next trip or two.

This is a tiny bit OT, but can you sit in the cars if you have a baby with you?

BoosGram, they wouldn't let us use a high chair with the cars, but we managed with our youngest on our laps and (for a few minutes) in a booster seat between us. It was a little tough for us, but worth it because our two older boys really enjoyed their front seat in the car!

Secret to Sci-Fi: order burgers. Nothing else. Just burgers. Most negative reviews are for ribs or some other sandwich, but rarely the burgers. We think their burgers are some of the best in WDW (as compared to most CS locations, Beaches & Cream, etc.) Good onion rings. Good shakes. Worth a visit once, possibly out of pocket, and, for us, only for lunch. (We generally eat outside the park for dinner on DHS days - somewhere on the boardwalk, in Epcot, or at a resort - not fans of DHS food in general.)

Thanks so much!

We were at Sci Fi on Sunday (11/15). It was good! It's not amazing, but if you go in expecting good diner type food, I think you'll be pleased! DH had the turkey sandwich with bacon (FYI it's a cold sandwich) and enjoyed it. He subbed the bean relish for fries. I had the reuben with fries. Both of us were very satisfied and polished off our meals. DH ordered the chocolate peanut butter cake. I only had a few bites and thought it was delicious. DH loved it too. I didn't get dessert as I was stuffed.

Honestly, the only thing I didn't like was the movie track got on my nerves after a while. I was alone in this one though. I was in a bad mood by the time we ordered because DH was 20 minutes late (we had split up that morning and he was supposed to meet us at Sci Fi for the ADR), the server was inattentive, and we didn't order until after the kids were almost finished with their meals (partly DH's fault, partly the server's fault as she didn't come to check on us for 10 minutes after the kids were brought their food). DH and the kids loved the environment though.
