OK.....so I'm not a techy......

I have just tried to install a timer , but alas to no avail. I followed the instructions to the letter, even previewed and it looked fine.

I copied and pasted but it didn't take.

Any ideas as to why in words of one syllable or less would be greatly appreciated

Sorted. Thanks Shirley for your reply....the DW (yes it does hurt to admit!!!) showed me what I was doing wrong....or more to the point something was missing from the instructions which may be different over here from over the pond. Instead of going through the EDIT box to do the copying and pasting, use the right click button on the mouse to paste directly into the signature box.

Hope that helps any other people as computer literate as me.

I do agree that you can do it that way, but I don't understand why it won't work for you the other way. Do you not have a "paste" selection in your edit menu?

This is the part of the instruction page that applies:

8 - Place your Countdown Timer in your DIS Board Signature:

Make sure the text in the 'Generated Script' text area is still completely highlighted

If it is not, click on the 'Generate/Re-Select Script' button again
In your browser's menu at the top, click on the 'Edit' listing

A menu will appear below the 'Edit' listing; choose 'Copy'

Go to the DIS Boards window that popped up in Step 7. *Note: The window may have opened behind the current window, so check there if you don't see it

Position the cursor at the place where you want to insert the Countdown Timer into your signature

In your browser's menu at the top, click on the 'Edit' listing

A menu will appear below the 'Edit' listing; choose 'Paste'

Click on the 'Submit Modifications' button on the bottom of the page
