I left for my weekend at Universal on Friday scared to death of the Hulk. All day Friday I kept walking by it thinking that there was no way I was going to be able to do it. Then Saturday came and after riding the Mummy I got up the courage to try to do it. My best friend was with me and she helped me walk through the line because I kept feeling like I was going to back out. Then I rode it. The whole time I kept my eyes closed and held on tight. Then I got off and felt a little shook up but at the same time I felt like I had accomplished so much. This really was a big deal for me to ride it. We then went and rode Spiderman and when we got off of that I just had to try Hulk again. I ended up riding it 7 times on Saturday! Then Sunday, I met up with DM and ended up riding it 9 more times that day!! BTW, I just have to say that he is the coolest person I have ever met! I even got up the courage to ride Dudley and JP. I figured after doing the Hulk I could anything. I stayed for HHN and loved it.
So, everyone that told me I had nothing to be scared of was right. DM even got me to hold my hands up on the last few rides. After 16 times in 2 days, I think I have conquered my fear.

You are definitely a braver person than I am. I will never be able to ride the Hulk. Hats off to you!!

Way to go! I rode the Mummy last week.....my very first coaster ride. Maybe one day I'll brave the HULK.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

As someone else who is scared of coasters I know how hard that was for you. I am going to a local park this weekend for their halloween activities and I have more determination than ever now to their coasters. Thanks to you!

Any tips?

Definately bring someone with you that is determined to get you on it. I know I wouldn't have got on it without someone pushing me to do it, and just close your eyes and hold on tight! It took about 3 times riding it before I had the courage to open my eyes. I probably started actually enjoying it by the 4th time.

Well done I was the same but my kids tormented me into it and now its a must a do :jester:

Great job!!!

So when are you going back to ride Dueling Dragons???

I'm going this weekend and I hope I can get enough courage to ride it. The whole floorless thing really scares me though...

I did it and I'm still alive. Go for it! I did this summer. By the way, I'm proud of you.

I love Dueling Dragons. I'll have to say that the first few times I rode DD I was scared to death on the upward climb, wondering why I was doing it! Once the "release" happened and the ride was in motion I loved it, only to repeat the fear the next time.

Try the first row of Ice and the last row if Fire--my 2 favorite rows.

It really is wonderful and I like it a lot more than Hulk. I'm happy doing Hulk a time or two, but DD I can repeat until I can't walk any more. And I'm not a youngster (43yo) and my 61yo sister loves the ride, not to mention my two teen children (wasn't able to get my 10yo on it last spring).

Have fun!!!

I LOVE the Hulk!! Smooooooth easy ride. I'm convinced it's much worse to watch than to ride!

Congrats!

Way to go!!!!

It is a great feeling conquering that fear of coasters, isn't it? I fully understand what a big deal it is to get on Hulk the first time, as I braved it this past summer. But you were much braver than I was. I only rode it once:D Let us coaster scaredy-cats know how Dueling Dragons was. I am trying to get up the nerve to try it when we go back in April.

Congratulations Again!!

You have given me so much hope!!::yes:: This year my oldest daughter will be tall enough to ride it, and that means I have to go to. I have been dreading it for over a year, but after reading your post, I'm actually ALMOST excited!! Way to go!!:bounce:

Well, I'm back and I rode both Dueling Dragons coasters. DM helped me get up the courage to do both of them. I rode Ice first twice in a row and then I rode Fire I think 4 times all together. I absolutely hated the whole floorless, feet hanging thing, but besides that I actually did enjoy the coasters. I like Fire alot better than Ice, because it is more intense. I still like Hulk the best though.

Awesome!!! You should be very proud of yourself.

Yeah, that floorless thing is scary and it really got the best of me our first tiime to Universal. Dueling Dragons are wonderful coasters.

I just want to say, "Thanks", for this thread. My daughter has had her reservations about this coaster. This comes from the person who absolutely loves RnR @ MGM! This year she gives it a try..... :scared1:
