Ok, please help me decide, narrowed down..

I have been crazy looking at cameras this am thanks to all you guys! I think i have it narrowed to two:

1. The Canon S3 Powershot; 12x Optical Zoom, 4x Ditigal, 6.0 mp approx. $370.00

2. The Sony Cyber Shot DSC H5/B; 12x Optical Zoom, 7.2 mp, approx. $449.00

any advice?

I just got the Canon S3 IS a little over a week ago, and I absolutely LOVE it! Amazon.com had it for only $345.99. The 12x zoom is amazing! Of course, I'm coming from a Canon A70 with only a 3x zoom. Since I already had a Canon, my learning curve wasn't that steep, but it's pretty easy to use.

If you have any specific questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them.

I know nothing about the Sony Cybershot, sorry.

Amy, i know where your coming from, as i have a sony now, so i am more familiar with them..lol.
And i read TONS of reviews on the both of them and the sony had slightly higher positive reviews, and the sony is available with a 6.0 mp 12x optical zoom, for only about $342.00 if i chose not to get the 7.2 mp.

i don't know that you would go wrong with either...did you check out this link?
it has sony and canon pic comparisons( click on the red for the canon)...imo, pick which ever feels best in your hand, is easier for you to use and which ever produces the pictures you like best( via the comparison shots) . sometimes imo reviews are not that good for the final decision...if they are close in reviews, i'd pick the one that feels the best since some the differences in 2 good reviews are things i dont think the average person would even notice( like am i going to notice a .1 second faster speed at something, don't think so

I absolutely love my Sony Cyber Shot!!! I am not sure which model it is but it has the following:

Optical Zoom 3x
5.0 mega pixels
mpeg movie VX

One of the greatest things is that it is soooo small...fits anywhere...and it takes really nice pics!

I mentioned this on your other thread but in case you didn't see it, you can get the S3 for $30 less on beachcamera or buydig.com, very reputable sites that are often recommended on photography boards (I've purchased 3 cameras from them myself).
