I haven't booked airfare in YEARS....I started to look at prices for Sept last week and Delta had 3 Roundtrips for approx 606.00. Last night the total went up to about 795.00. I read something about the "Fare Game" of when prices go up and down....so...can you please help me cut to the chase on this? We are ready to book but now want to wait for the 606.00 again to put the extra $ towards the mouse..not the plane. Thank you!!!

I am assuming that you are flying out of Charleston because my brother and niece are also flying out of Charleston on Delta this summer with pretty decent prices. My brother got his on one of the other sites, like CheapTickets, HotWire, Kayak, etc. The disadvantage is that it is a non-refundable ticket. Trying checking those out before you book. Now that spring break is in sight the prices will only go up, but they do have good promotionals from time to time.

Good hunting!

Not sure what the "fare game" is, but if you wait for $660 again, you may never see it and end up with even higher prices. The general rule is that the closer you get to the flight, the higher the price, but occasionally they either have quick sales or make slight adjustments due to demand and lower the prices, but this happens far less often than raising the prices. Supply and Demand.

It's a gamble, like Vegas. You can hold your cards and hope for something better, or fold and take what may be the best you'll ever see.

We have gone in September four times . . . The cheapest rates have always been in June (SW from CT). our best deal was $150.00 RT!

It isn't unusual for fares to increase on the weekend when people have more time to think about buying plane tickets. Check throughout the weekend, but I'd say there's a good chance the fares will go down by Tuesday.
