I, being from Key West, still can NOT put together in my mind where kayaking takes anyone - so this is just a question - if you have done this tour in KW, can you please let me know if #1 if you enjoyed it? #2 if it was worth the monies #3 if you really were in the mangroves and the salt ponds and what did you see?
Thanks a bunch.

I would love to hear this answer! We want to do this excursion when we are in Key West in February, but haven't seen any info on it yet. Does anyone know anything about this other than Disney's description? We love to kayak, but don't want to waste our time or money if it's nothing exciting! Thanks so much.

I would like to know also, as we are considering this excursion. We lived in KW way back in 1960, and I can't quite figure out where it must go other than small islands a ways away.

Hello everyone,
I received an answer to my letter that I wrote in regards to this "Kayaking" cruise in Key West - I am still in the dark about it for what they are describing is a ride on what is a man made channel that has homes on one side and whatever on the other side - quote from their letter " the first half of our trip is spent paddling along Salt run channel through very narrow mangrove streams (?) - the channel runs all the way through KW going under North Roosevelt Blvd and Flagler Ave -and meeting up with Riviera Channel - (all of this is man -made and there are houses there) DUH (my own feelings on the duh) - the second half of the tour is spent going along the shallow near shore waters of the sea plane basin which is a smaller body of water within Garrison Bight (this is where all the commerical fishing boats are moored)
This company offered to RENT me some of their kayaks so Norm and I could explore these areas - that I would be surprise - they are not kidding on that one statement for I would be very surprise if something is there that I never knew about since I grew up around the area they are talking about and I still can NOT imagine it BUT I will do this - Norm and I are going back in January to see my family again and I do intent to check this out completely - For $40.00 a person, I believe it does need to be checked out and satisfy my curiousity.
If ANYONE ANYBODY has done this "tour" please please let me know - everyone that I have spoke in KW has the question as I.
Thanks for all the help.
