Hi everyone!

Just curious to know opinions from seasoned DISers who have been to the parks during such promos. The Fairytale Package and the Military Salute will no doubt raise crowd levels during the summer and fall...but I'm interested in opinions about crowd levels in mid-December, when we planned to be there. We were hoping for low crowds the week before Christmas...but now I see that the military promo ends on Dec. 19. Does that last week get extra busy as people try to do a trip before the promo ends?

I'm happy for those that qualify for the Military Salute promotion! :D DH is retired AF so we don't qualify :( , but hopefully this will allow many families who would not otherwise be able to afford a trip to WDW a chance to go!

TIA,

We went right before the last one ended at the end of April 2002. I had heard that those weeks shouldn't be crowded because Spring Break was over and Easter was in March of 2002. We did find it to be a bit more on the crowded side than we expected. Of course...that one included police & fireman also, and April is probably more a more tempting time to go, so I'm not sure that you compare. My guess is that it would have an impact, but maybe it will be less noticeable since early Dec. is such a super-slow time of year (so I've heard....never been). Hope this wasn't a totally useless post to you. Sorry!!

We have been during Spring Break week, President's week, Oct, and for the Hero's special of last year. After 10am, it was definetly about a 30 minute wait for the slower rides, and 45-120 for the more popular rides. I don't recall ever having been there when it was less crowded than that. There is usually always some sort of promotion, or holiday, or school vacation going on, so no matter what time of the year you go, you are bound to run into some sort of a crowd. We are going in Oct. Now this I am more worried about- with the Fairytale pkg, Columbus day weekend, and the Canadian Thanksgiving all happening the time period we are going, I am a little worried also. I will not cancel my trip and I can't change the dates. I figure I'll just take advantage of EE and plan my DDs 1st trip a little more wisely! Good luck to both of us!
