I keep reading posts of people who want to be "tagged". I take it this is a good thing?

A tag fairy is a myth kinda like Big Foot. I was once marked by the words of this fictious character however there remains no proof a tag every existed under my name. (besides the fact I was screwing around in my profile and accidently erased it)

(not that I've been tagged...) but I think it's great when The Tag Fairy goes through old posts and finds something unique about a member and uses THAT for the tag. I find them very funny, especially if it's from a thread that I happen to have read.

I have always wondered about the Tag Fairy myself, but have been to lazy to ask.

So are you saying that anybody who has something other than "DIS veteran" has been tagged? Or you can change it yourself but the only OTHER "person" is the Tag Fairy?

She was operating over at the resorts board... at least that's how I got mine... there was a very long thread going and people clapping like crazy!

I've mostly been posting to the ebay thread these days, and haven't seen her much... and I'm assuming it's a "her"... one never knows!

I don't know who the tag fairy is.... but I don't like being reminded about the tag fairy either. LOL It's depressing... either the tag fairy doesn't like me OR I've said nothing memorable for them to tag me with something.
Both/either make me sad.

This is very interesting! I thought I had to post a certain number of times before my "tag" was automatically changed from "Welcomed Guest " to "Dis Veteran". I remember reading that somewhere, but I don't remember the number. I figured only Dis Veterans had the ability to change their tags

I think 75 posts gets you changed to Dis Veteran. Mine just changed yesterday.

Yep - you can definitely change your own tag. But, the tag fairy is the ONLY one who can add a little colour to your tag!!! If you change your own tag, it just comes up in black (no HTML is allowed there).

Ok, i don't know a lot about computers..so how did you all get the pictures under your profile? Did I miss it in the profile set up? I don't mean to sound computer challenged..but I like those pictures!

At the top of the board click on "user cp" then it will take you to another screen and click on "edit options" it will then take you to another screen go down to the bottom where it says "avatar" this is where you select a picture... Good Luck....
