I was reading over on the podcast thread that someone found a 3 foot black king snake and a nest with eggs in her room at the CR. She posted pictures on her blog of it too and I am really afraid now. I don't know what room or floor they were on but I am having a anxiety attack just thinking about it......
Is the best way to prevent this from happening is to not get a room on the first floor????
please any advice ???

Oh My! I would have had a heart attack! How in the world does a snake get in a hotel room, travel along the curtains and how do eggs get there!! YIKES!

Please, there is not enough Xanax in the world that would cure me from that!!!!!!!!!! My Hubby better get ready to check the room up and down every time we get in and the sheets too ughhhhhhhhhh:eek: :scared:

OMG!!!!!!!!! Me and my DF were thinking of stay at the CR for our honeymoon at. Now i think we may stay somewhere else. Maybe!

I've seen a black snake twice at WL. Both times on walkway to the bus stop:eek: More scared of me than me of them:lmao:

I know they are all over Florida but I would NOT want them in my room or anywhere near me

:scared: Good Lord! If there's a snake in my room he'd better be planning on splitting the bill with me.

Chances are the snake came into one of the 1st floor rooms in the Garden Wing, however if you stayed in the Tower or main building at any WDW Resort something like that won't ever happen.

LOL! I love that it was such a short, sidebar kind of story in their overall trip report! Apprently it didn't freak them out completely, and they got a fab suite to boot! :)

Yep, now I'm completely freaked out. Have a tough time sleeping as it is, I can imagine getting NO sleep at Disney now, laying there worrying a snake will crawl into bed with me! I was requesting first floor, but thinking I'd feel better on a higher floor.

And I can totally see this happening at any resort. Have worried about this already, and now reading this confirms my fears! All it takes is some shrubbery outside your room, some nasty little snake hanging out in there, maid comes to clean room, has her cart by the door, door open for a period of time, and then here comes the snake, just slithering its way in there. Heck, I'd hate for any little wildlife creature, lizard, armadillo, whatever, to come making its way into the room.

Its true florida has some wildlife. The only way to totally factor out that possibility would be to vacation in Antartica. SO - Given that alternative...Im not sure I would spend a lot of time worrying about it. The risk is very small. But I think if you ARE worried about it, that your idea about requesting a higher floor level room is a good one! Have a wonderful trip!~

I have never seen a snake anywhere at WDW, not in the parks, resorts, or pathways in between. I thought that they had somehow done some magical thing to keep all the snakes out of there. I guess I was just fooling myself because I'm terrified of snakes and didn't want to imagine them at the happiest place on earth!

I am calling up my travel agent to make sure that we DO NOT get a first floor. I can't believe how calm they looked in the pictures the last thing I would be doing is smiling and taking pictures..... They would have to put me in a straight jacket and take me to the looney bin :scared:

I feel the same way I made my husband check out our bedroom at home just because I had the heebie jeebies after seeing this.:crazy2:
