OK Now I'm scared

Wish I didn't see this thread either LOL. I'm checking in on the 17th. Although I don't know if it could be much worse than my experience at a Hilton in Virginia a couple of years ago.

Went into the bathroom to get my shower first thing in the morning. Got undressed, started the shower, took off all my clothes and sat down to use the toilet. Noticed something out of the corner of my eyes on the wall directly next to me and it was a bat.  :scared1: :scared1:

My husband and son were out wandering in the hallway. I came screaming and running out of the room with a towel wrapped around me screaming BAT in the bathroom, BAT in the bathroom LOL

They had wheeled a cot in the room late the night before for my son when we checked in at night and we determined it must have been in the cot, that was stored on the upper floor of the hotel. Needless to say, I was a little skeeved knowing we slept all night with a bat more than likely in our room. And yes, we switched hotels immediately, after they initially suggested that maybe we brought it with us from home. I told them a BAT wasn't on my packing list.

I am one of those deathly afraid of snakes type people. I refused to even think about it when we were going in July.

At the Poly, one of my little ones was chasing one of the tiny lizards. One of the landscapers came up to me and advised me not to allow the kids near any of the gardens along the walkway bercause there are so many snakes. I almost fell over. We didn't see one there, however, we didn't escape Disney without meeting up with a snake. At POR we were by the main pool. The kids were going back and forth between the pool and the playscape. My 11 yr old went to see what her brothers were doing on the playscape and came over to tell me there was a snake on the side walk.

It was, literally, the largest snake I have ever seen. Suffice it to say the top of it was 1/2 up to where the top of the water slide is while the tail end was still coiled on the sidewalk. I actually went to the head lifeguard very calmly. The funny part was how he cringed. He'd worked there for 11 yrs and never run into one. He jumped when he saw it. I didn't get really scared until he told me it was a water moccasin. (sp) When I nearly jumped across the pool he said he was just joking but the pest guys did confirm it later.

Oh NO!!!! Please I am just hoping that if I try real hard not to think about them I will not see any snakes anywhere during my trip......;)
