We (Me, DW, 4yo Son) are going May 5th through the 21st. We are still toying with the idea of staying on property.

Because we are staying 16 nights, the package has to be broken up in two stays.

I called the 800 number to check prices, as I did not know that you HAD to break up the stay. Here is what Vivian quoted me:

All Star Movies

May 5th to 12th
7 nights with 10 day tickets for all, INCLUDING Dining Plan - $2024.82

May 12th to 21st
9 nights with 1 day tickets for all, INCLUDING Dining Plan - $1982.68

Total - $4007.50

Our other option is to use tickets we have left over from previous stays, 3 days WITH Hopping and 3 without.

This would then bring it to:

All Star Movies

May 5th to 12th
7 nights with 1 day tickets for all, INCLUDING Dining Plan - $1584.98

May 12th to 21st
9 nights with 1 day tickets for all, INCLUDING Dining Plan - $1982.68

Total - $3567.66

Now, I don't have AAA yet, but I will get it if it will help me. Vivian told me that I couldn't get a great deal that INCLUDED the Dining Plan.

HELP!

Oh yeah, one more wrench.....

My 36yo wife is on Dialysis. She will be going three days out of wach week. We will be renting a car for the entire stay, so that expense is not saved by staying on property.

Thanks you you all!

can't really say I don't know all the pricing your getting. Try figuring OKW seperate below and add tickets and dinning to it.

have you tried renting pts off DVC owner.

EXAMPLE: whole stay at OKW studio ( just 3 of you, right) 16 nts at maybe $10 a pt x pts needed 244 = $2440 for room on site. you have $1567 left for tickets and dinning. You need to figure that out .

OR stay 1st 2 nts at all stars FRI- Sat for cash then 14 nts at OKW $10 pt x 196 pts needed = $1960 for OKW room ( fri and Sat nts at DVC are high and you would hit 3 weekends in this trip so staying at ALL STARS the 1st to nts can really save you money.
good luck :cool1: :cool1:

I would definately join AAA...for the dates you are traveling, you can get upgraded to the water parks, etc for no additional charge, but AAA can save you some money on your room reservations!

I could be wrong but if you do the dinning plan you have to pay rack rate so AAA will not help to lower cost. Someone else might know more on this .

The Disney uk site lets you book stays up to 21 days with tickets. They charge your credit card in pounds but it works out to the same as dollars. Try it you might save.

I went to the uk site and plug in you dates etc.

for 16 days with a premium ticket and dining plan at a value resort it comes to $3889.21 US dollars. Saves you a bit.

I just had to chime in here and tell you to tell your wife that I admire the heck out of her. I know people on dialysis and I know that she is going to have a hard time at Disney, but obviously she loves it and would go any way she could.

I just can't get over the fact that she has to go to Disney and have dialysis while she's there. I am so humbled and amazed by her courage and strength. I hope you and your family have a spectacular and magical time at the World. If there is anything I can do, please PM me. I would be more than willing to help you plan your trip. Of course everyone here will be glad to help too!

We are going in June and my father-in-law and his wife want to come too. He needs dialysis a few times during the week too. She looked it up last year and had it all set but he became too ill at the time and had to cancel. My question to you is: Do you have a particular dialysis center all set up so far? If you remember, please let me know how she did with the traveling, etc.. Good luck! You are staying so long that you won't miss a thing!! Take your time and go at slow pace!!

We have and will be going to Celebration for my wife's Dialysis treatments. Davita Celebration is a very nice place that caters to vacationers. Plus, it is right across 192 from WDW.

tjmouse - Thanks for the kind words. We will certainly try to Experience The Magic!

Marcy Mouse - Thanks. I will try that. Any little but helps.

Marcy Mouse - Have you ever done this or heard of anyone in the USA doing this?

"Disney's Ultimate Tickets have been created exclusively for UK guests and are only available to purchase before departure!"

Marcy Mpose - Just looked at booking through the UK site. When they ask for your billing address, "United Kingdom" is the default, non-changable country. I don't think that this is possible. Thanks anyway.

This was only true with the free dining offer last year. You should be able to book a MYW package with Dining through AAA and still get a discount on the room portion, as long as there is one available. :thumbsup2

Thanks. I've heard others mention Celebration for Dialysis too. I will have them look into it for this trip. It sounds like their best bet too. :thumbsup2

We saved $380 on the room portion, with the AAA discount, at the POFQ in July (2006), for 10 nights. I am sure there are better deals floating around out there, but it seemed too exhaustive to pursue. We are satisfied and look forward to our very first trip to WDW.

Ok, went to the AAA office and here's what I got...

Since we are staying 16 nights, we have to split the stays. We got the regular, general public rate for the first 10 nights and the AAA discount for the remaining 6 nights. We got a 10 day ticket for each of us with the first stay and a 1 day ticket for the second part (to stay on dining plan).

Our total is just about $100 less than me booking it online. While I was at the AAA Agent's desk, I heard no mention about any code. SHould I call her back and mention a code? And if so, what's the code?

Also, should I change the split to get the most out of the AAA discount? Meaning, do 7 nights with the 10 day ticket and 9 nights with the 1 day ticket, dining plan for all nights?

Thanks for your help.

Have AAA punch those numbers for you. That is what they are there for. Explain your situation and that you are trying to save every penny and see what they can do. Good luck!!

Couldn't you do the upgrade to the water park tickets too with AAA?

I think (not 100%) you'll get double dining for one day won't you too when you split your stay like that?

I'm from canada so I have a Postal Coder rather than a zip code. Up here we used to have this problem with price line. They would only accept US address. So what I would do is fill out my address so that the street and city was the same as it would appear on any credit card info and then I would use the 90210 zip code.

I know one Canadian family that used the uk site for an extended stay. They booked 3 weeks at a value and as far as I know eveything went ok. I know that when they checked in they didn't have paper work but did have ID and there confimation #. They never said that there were any problems.

I recently returned from our March trip - sorry again about taking so long.

My advise would be to scrap the idea of a package and buy an annual pass for one adult. Then book your stay using an AP discount. For May, the value resorts are $25/night off of the rack rate. Then buy the other adult and the child 10-day hopper passes from a ticketbroker. Use your remaining days from your previous trip to make up the additional 6 days.

As an AP holder, you would also be entitled to buy a Disney Dining Experience card which will entitle you to 20% off of your total bill at select dining locations. This will help cut some of the cost of dining in Disney.

By my calculations, it would cost:
16 nights @ AllStar w/ AP discount = $1337.92
1 AP (adult) = $441.98
2 10-day hoppers from Ticketmania (1A, 1C) =$455
Disney Dining Experience Membership = $60.00
Total = $2295

Compared to your original quote of $4007, this leaves you with $1712 for your food budget for 17 days. That's more than $100 per day for 2 adults and 1 small child. It will also allow you the flexibility to grab a meal offsite if you choose. Just for comparison's sake, we are a family of 2 adults & 2 juniors. I budget $125/day for our meals.

I'm not sure how your DW feels after her dialysis but I know that my uncle is rarely hungry on those days. The dining plan provides for an unbelievable amount of food. Having it might make things easier for planning but I'm not sure whether it is a good idea for you budget-wise.
