Hi,

Well on Saturday my girlfriend (gosh does it feel great to say that again :woohoo: :woohoo: ), is coming over and were seeing MI3 and then I'm cooking dinner for her. I already know what I'm serving (mostaccioli rigati with maranara sauce, salad, some kind of dinner roll and a bottle of wine). What I don't know is what I should do to make a romantic atmosphere. The cooking will be the easy part, the other I need your help with.

nice table for two, candles, table cloth, proper place settings, flowers on table, soft music, preferably cvlassical italian, or lite jazz, make sure the meal is ready before she arrives, so you arent tied to kitchen,

Shadow kitty,

Thanks. We are going to a movie before dinner, so I really can't cook it before hand. The salad, the rolls and the wine will all ready, so it's just boiling the pasta and cooking the sauce that will take 10-15 minutes at the most.

:rolleyes1

What I can't figure out is why no woman has snatched you up before this ;)

Let's see: he's a gentleman

well mannered

romantic

thoughtful

:scratchin I guess maybe you've been on a path leading you to this point and time...."El Destino" it is written in the stars

Renee,

We were taking about that tonight as well. She can't believe that we found each other and she thinks it was fate, which I have to believe it was. We both have had very unsucessful dating relationships and really haven't done much of it in the last few years. I guess some force was saving both her and I for each other and kept us safe until he/she/it found it safe to let us find each other.

Is this the Cancun girl you are taking away for a romantic get-away soon? I thought she lived across the country or something?

As far as romantic, multiple candle groupings here, there and everywhere...cannot get more romantic than mood lighting, it makes women feel beautiful. LOL.

As for me, I believe with all my heart in destiny!

Things happen for a reason...sometimes not the things we think we want, but usually they work out for the better.

Just my way of thinking :)

BTW...does she have a name, this beautiful girlfriend of yours? princess:

Candles, nice background music, soft lighting, and don't forget to turn your home phone and cell phones off. Oh - and clean the place really good. Women dig guys who are romantic AND tidy!

poohandwendy,

Actually this is someone I met by pure chance. The one in California found someone else anyways and I was cool about that because we had a good time in Cancun, because I have finally met the girl of my dreams.

ChrisnSteph,

Thanks. I have kept the place pretty clean as a bachelor, but it does need some work and I have my hands full this week doing that.

LOL, wow...you move fast!

Well, at any rate, glad to hear that...I didn't like the Cancun girls family anyways (lol, as if my opinion matters)

Have a great time! That's amore!

Jason.. didn't you say she is a Disney fan? Take a cue from Lady and the Tramp and their "romantic dinner" - no.. don't roll a meatball to her with your nose ;) :rotfl2: but think of the atmosphere and candlelight and romantic music...

poohandwendy,

Well it really wasn't me moving fast as it was her finding someone else and calling it off. Which is the best thing that could have happened because I wouldn't have found my princess that way. If I didn't want to here everyones ideas I wouldn't ask on her so I appreciate your opinion on that matter.

MeanLaureen,

The funny things is that she would completely get the whole meatball with the nose thing.

Ah- this is how my dh first won me over- he cooked his special homemade spaghetti sauce.

SO cute.

Definitely have a clean place and candles and wine. That equals romance in almost any girl's book. We all appreciate effort.

LOl, I was joking about the moving fast...I met my DH the day after I made a public statement that I was officially NOT getting involved in another serious relationship....we met and have been 'serious' since almost day one, LOL. (over 20 years ago now, LOL)

Things happen for a reason, glad you are enjoying your new GF!

Still.. I'd wait on that one. :rotfl2: ;)

Are you a guy that's not afraid to slow dance? Maybe have some soft romantic (Italian themed since it's an Italian dinner) music playing in the background and ask her to dance with you. It would have blown me away!

I vote for the "When Harry Met Sally" soundtrack for music.

Clean your bathroom, light a mildly scented candle and serve ice cream or cheesecake for dessert. You sound like a winner. :)
