Here's the deal. We are going on the 7-day Eastern. Traveling party includes my family (me38, dh41, ds9, ds6) and my sister's family (dsis36, dh41, ds8, dd5). We, the ladies, cannot talk the men into doing Palo's brunch. The four of us have done Palo on the Wonder for dinner and the dh's were not impressed. I try to tell them that my peeps (people :D ) on the DIS board generally LOVE the brunch and say it is worth the time and the money. THEY say that only older folks with nothing to do like the brunch. Please help me prove them wrong and take the poll.
Thanks so much!
Happy 4th!

My husband and I are right in the same age range with your group. We both thought it was a real highlight of the trip. Definately not an old folks thing. A nice quiet time without the kids. He and I both would do it again in a heartbeat. We both enjoyed a good bit more than dinner.

Jennifer - I have done brunch at least once each cruise (and twice on one of them) and I do know if DH said he didn't want to go I would go alone! Before anyone gets to feeling bad for me - that would NEVER happen. If the men don't want to go and you and your friend want to partake then let the ladies go alone. Age has nothing to do with a great meal.

Jennifer..your hubbys are correct..Palo on the wonder is less than impressive..if you are going to be on the Magic..give it another try..I am sure they will be impressed.

We surprised our daughter with a quick trip (on the wonder) while she was home on leave. We had talked up Palo...because hubby and I had had dinner twice, brunch and tea on our last trip on the magic..all fabulous. Well, needless to say..on the wonder it was less than fabulous and she thought we were crazy for liking it..lol.

Now we have to take her on the magic to redeem ourselves..lol.

We didn't love our Palo dinner either, but the Brunch was a different story. It is not to be missed!

Hmm Jwann as I'm 50 I guess I can't vote.
However IF I could I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It is as good imho as dinner in Palo.

Cheers,
Grumbo

We also really enjoyed Palo brunch. Please don't miss it! If the men don't want to try it, then go without them. :) Dinner at Palo was good too, but we missed our regular servers and dinner mates.

We definitely plan on doing the brunch again next cruise!

We liked the dinner, but really enjoyed the brunch. I would do it again in a heartbeat and twice on the 7 day if I could work it in!! It is very relaxing, you get to enjoy the view from the windows and the food is very, very good.

Thanks to all for your votes -- after reviewing the results -- the guys said "YES, they'll go!".
I knew my DIS pals would come through.
Thanks for all the honest answers.

Last September was our 3rd Disney Cruise, and the first time we decided to try Palo. We did the Brunch, Dinner, and High Tea, and enjoyed all three immensely. I think of the three, the High Tea was my DH's least favorite, but even that he enjoyed, and the Brunch was to dye for!!!!!!

The food is phenomenal - my DH is a big fan of crab legs, which are plentiful at the brunch, but there were so many other amazing choices I think he only had two crab legs during the entire meal!

We will definitely do it again this September!

Well, my DD works in Palo, and she doesnt get many guests complaining about the food and surroundings! Go without the men!We loved it, but Brunch is the best - as you get a view of the ocean.. Its too dark at dinner time. Nat:Pinkbounc

Men not like it?
Are they out of their minds?

All you can eat Palo food?

It was great!:bounce:

Although I'd guarantee you won't get a BAD server at Palo, ask for Marco or Milan...they are wonderful, and I believe Elizabeth's parents are DIsers, too.

The people at Palo on the Magic are awesome people. We've probably eaten there 10 times on my 4 cruises and always had an awesome time. I like brunch way better than dinner, but even dinner is wonderful. For a romantic couples dinner, Palo can not be topped.

The food is incredible! Just wonderful! Too much to not roll out of there.

That appeals to the men doesn't it? :teeth:

I did it two times and I would definitely do it again. For me it is better than dinner.

DH and I did this last year on our cruise and it was okay. I am a picky eater and so I was disappointed, except for the filet that I had - oh that was so melt in your mouth!!!!! And the desert. That was about all I ate. I didn't like the champagne but I'm not a big drinker either. I have told him if he'd like to do it again, he is more than welcome to but I'd rather save my calories for something else.

Had brunch and dinner on the same day! Yummy! I loved that there were so many things to choose from tat brunch hat I normally would never eat. And the stollen bread with berries and creams ... I could not get enough of it.
