ok ladies, lets discuss "unmentionables"

Look for bras made with a wicking lining, like Coolmax. They'll dry quickly. Much as a love cotton, cotton does not dry quickly. You'll need something made of manmade fibers that dries faster. My regular bras are cotton, but hoping to buy some cool ones for a future trip. As for the those tanks with built in bras-they horrid if your chesty-and I am. Add to that I'm pooh sized and I wear a regular bra all the time at Disney. Did buy a coolmax tank and supplex shorts-they should dry quickly and hopefully that means the undies will too. I have it a little easier, we always stay offsite at condos and houses. That means a washer and dryer to use in the room, makes it much easier.

Hey, I found some winners at Wal-Mart!!!

They actually had the Fruit of the Loom sports bras with hooks. Pretty important, since I also tried on a regular tank top, and couldn't manipulate my arms enough to get out!! (a little scare in the dressing room....) They also had a whole host of lighter-weight items. (I don't do lingerie shopping much, so it was like a whole new world to me!) Most were under $10. I was pretty happy to be able to stock up on a few for not too much money.

Yep! That's the one they had with hooks. Unfortunately, they only had two in my size. They had some others that were fun, but they were over the head. Maybe I'll be able to use them when we go in a month, but since I know I can't right now, I left them there.

Checked out their bikinis, and they sell the pieces separately. However the least expensing was $7, most were $11 or $16. And a lot of them tied, and I remember that I thought those were uncomfortable in my bikini days, so I staye away from them.

Sorry I didn't get back to you right away Clutter (love your name by the way)
All of the Barely there line is super thin. All are microfibers, but with cotton crotches.
Almost as thin as..... pantyhose. But not tight or binding. They really do feel as if you aren't wearing anything.
They are very smooth and stretchy as could be. They don't look big on the hanger. Try on a pair and see what size works for you.

I know that I do a bad thing to them by throwing them in the dryer with the rest of the laundry but I am always too busy to was undies separately! If you are so inclined you could just hang dry them in about an hour or two. (another plus for travelling!)

The first time I bought a pair I thought they might "run" or something if I weren't careful with them. It has never happened.

Once you figure out which style and size you prefer you can keep an eye out for them at places like Marshall, Ross, TJ Maxx. Once in a while I spot some there- maybe last years color, for $1.99 a pair.

Since we're being so frank...I've been needed to update my "unmentionables" for a while, but didn't want to deal with it.

BUT, thanks to this thread, I went to Kohl's this morning & got some barely there underwear. They had a sale! Usually 3/$24, I got them for 3/$14.50. But like the previous poster said, they looked really small, so I don't know if I got the right size.

Here's to a wedgie-free me!

(I know, I know, too much information!) Sorry!:teeth:

There is a catalog called Solutions (products that make life easier). My mom had it and I noticed a built in bra tank top in there. It has a "real" bra in it - underwire, adjustable back hook closure, adjustable spaghetti straps, etc. I am not small chested and it works for me. I was very happy because I can not get away with those elastic shelf bra things in most tanks. They are a little pricier, but for me it was worth it to be able to wear a spaghetti strap tank!
The catalog has a web site www.solutionscatalog.com
It is called the "perfect fit cami". They also just added a halter top with the built in bra, too. You order your normal bra size and they come in 34-42 B, C, D, or DD
Hope this helps someone!!;)

I am sure I will gross you all out-- but I do not wear any unmentionables to Disney!

We usually go when it is hot so I wear the tank tops with a built in bra and I wear mens swim trunks with the mesh undies--I hate wet undies after a water ride! The trunks dry off quickly, and have good coverage.

But I feel very light and free when I am there!!!!

heather23, I am with you! All these bras that everyone is talking about sound great, but what is great for someone with B cups is horrible for someone with D cups. I have looked for years for one that has enough support. Closest thing I have found is wearing my regular bra WITH one of those tight spaghetti strap tank top things. Those things don't move a bit with that on, but it does get a little hot!

I might try those breathables and see how they work::yes::

I found some mens' water shorts (made by Columbia) that have the mesh built-in undies. These shorts are AWESOME! They come in 5 colors so I bought 1 of each. They also have zippered pockets
and the shorts can actually fold into the back pocket for easy packing!! I LOVE these shorts! I tried them out about a week ago one day when it reached the 90's to see if they would be cool enough for the heat of Florida, they were great! Even let a neighbor kid spray me with a hose( took awhile to convince this 7 yr old that he wouldn't get in trouble!) and they dried very quickly! I have a feeling I'll be living in these shorts!!

A word of warning about the Barely There panties.

They are everything they claim. They do not make lines and they don't ride up. I do not dry them in the dryer, but 2 of my 3 pairs (within the first 2 washes) began to unravel. I guess they really need to be handwashed or on a delicates cycle.

IowaGirl it sounds tempting - Here's a dumb question - do all these men's swimshorts look like baggy mens swimshorts? will people raise eyebrows because of this variation of "menspanties" (term per delswife chronicles)?

Thanks for the info. I just ordered 2. I'll let you know how they work out. I am a large cup size but not necessarily a large size. I can wear the bra tanks from Express but I think these will work even better.

Lisa Af,
I would take those panties back to the store where you bought them and request that they be refunded or exchanged.
In the past three or four years I have bought at least 20 pair of these and although I have "lost" several pair- at least temporarily, yes I loose underwear:scared1: - I will explain in a minute, I have never had a pair unravel or fall apart.

I have found that in my laziness when I throw them in the dryer with the rest of the clothes and forget to put a fabric softner sheet in there with them they tend to hitch a ride with other family members' things. For some reason, no one ever feels compelled to return my stuff.

Not even when they hitch a ride to school?!?!?!?! :teeth:

Coulen't resist. I'm going to try to get to Kohl's this sunday, I will still check these out. Yikes, I've bought an entire new wardrobe for this trip... unmentionables, shorts (nylon ones at Wal-Mart for $5), sandals (still sorting out the tevas from Zappos), bathing suits. What I NEED is new work clothes....

Okiamae-

I wear a regular men's swim trunk, I think most of which I have bought at Wal Mart. I do not wear the crazy younger mens 'surfer swimsuit' 'cause those could easily go past my knees!

I have them in plain black, blue, red and a couple with a couple different colors. I think they look just like shorts. They really are shorts.

Last time I went to the parks I about died wearing underwear, jean shorts, bra, and t-shirt--I knew I had to come up with a better plan--

And now I am free!!!!!!!!!!:sunny:

LOL
thank you IowaGirl - I think I'll try this at least on the day we go to Universal, I've read IOA is very wet

Okay! Those bras all sound great. Unfortunally I have a very big chest. Wearing a size 36J yes J though I am currently Breastfeeding hoping I will shrink some when I wean.

So none of these bra choices will work for me.:D

Bear74,
Check out some of the nursing mom companies such as motherwear. I got 6 wonderful sport type nursing bras (I was an E cup at the time) and they were the best nursing bras that I owned ( I nursed 3 boys and bought a lot of different ones). I'm sure that they come in your size and although they are cotton they are very comfortable. I have since passed them on and can't remember which company made them,
