OK ladies! Do you carry a purse, cross-body, or just a lanyard at the parks?

I've been reading that most rides, etc at US/IOA don't allow camera's, phones, even small cross-body bags on them. We haven't been in over 14yrs, but I always carry a very small cross-body bag to places like US/IOA, WDW, SeaWorld & have always worn it on the rides, etc. Just curious if this rule is true? And if so, does it change what you carry in the parks? I generally like a small wallet, iPhone, lipgloss with me . . .but I suppose I could get it down to just a lanyard (I assume you can wear them on the rides). Just curious what you all carry? If you just carry what you want to and use the lockers (which are new to us . . . are they easy, take much time?). OR have you scaled way back and try to carry basically nothing? thanks

I use a large cross body bag.....some rides, I have to store it in a locker, the rest of the time has been fine.....unless the rules have recently changed

I used a lanyard type case around my neck. It was clear and waterproof. I carried my ticket, express pass, room key, phone, a few bucks and a Chapstick. Since it was clear, I set my express pass facing out for easy scanning. I only had to put it in a locker for rip ride rocket and dragons. On both those rides they don't allow anything loose. I put it in my shirt for the Mummy and the water rides.

I got it either at wal-mart or Five Below. Either way it was less than $5 and well worth it

I put my park ticket, room key, and express pass in my lanyard.

I wear a lightweight drawstring-style backpack (which I actually bought in one of the HP shops!) too. I stow it in a locker when necessary. The lockers don't take much time at all... I'm always a little surprised when someone complains about them. The drawstring backpack is super convenient and perfect, I think, for your needs! :thumbsup2

I carry the Overland Equipment Baylis. It holds my tickets, wallet, phone, and camera. As much as I hate to admit it, it has a three prong clasp so it converts to a fanny pack when I need to ride the rides that don't allow bags. The rest of the time, I carry it like a cross body bag.

Seeing how I travel with kids and this was our first year without the stroller, we used one backpack. There was no way for us to get it down to less considering the children's needs. The backpack is a little smaller than the normal size - so perfect for me as most adult backpacks are too big for me. I used the lockers for the first time on this trip too and they were easy. My only recommendation is to just send ONE person in to use the lockers if you just need one locker. I went during a quiet time but the locker area was still really crowded. There were plenty of lockers available, but people would come in with five people to figure it out for one locker. I left my family outside of the area and it was still hard to navigate the people in the locker areas. The lockers are free for a certain amount of time. (They want you to use the locker just during the ride, not for several hours).

It's not *most* rides at all. And the rides that require you to not carry bags etc with you have lockers that are free for a time set along with the wait time at the time you get the locker.

We carry the Igloo brand MaxCold cooler backpack for waters, some snacks, and also sunscreen and lip balm, and camera when we have to stash the bag. I use my Ravenclaw school-tie lanyard with a Witz brand "see it safe" case, with my ticket, ID, money, insurance card in it. For the bigger rides that goes under my shirt for safekeeping, my glasses stay on my face, the camera goes in the backpack.

We either use a locker or, if DH can't ride that ride (size issues), he waits with it or (if he wants to see the queue, which has so far only happened in the Wizarding Worlds) walks through the line with us and exits at the appropriate spot.

Most rides I keep my fanny pack on......but RRR, Hulk and Duelling Dragons it goes in a locker as they don't allow anything. Everything else you can keep it on. As long as it has a three prong catch.

Lanyards stay on on every ride......hold EP facing out so it can scan easy, room key and park ticket. Tuck them into top on rides like RRR.

Only reason we wear waist bags is to carry sun cream, camera, hand wipes and tissues.....that's it.....but we stay onsite and have no young kids so don't need to carry much at all.

Lockers are easy, never had any hassle with them at all.

I use a waistpack( allowed if it has a 3 prong waist pack) or nothing at all.I hate messing with the lockers ..The rides that do not allow bags: Mummy, Men in Black, Forbidden Journey, Gringotts, Hulk*, Rip Ride Rocket* ,Dragon Challenge* .The big coasters ( the ones with a *) do not allow ANYTHING..no waistpacks, things in pockets etc. Dragon Challenge is a toss up.I was not allowed on with anything, but others have reported they were not asked to lock up stuff in their pockets. Lockers are provided at these rides and are free for LENGTH of ride/wait time , after that it charges you .water rides do not require you to lock stuff up and lockers aren't free, but you may want to use one anyway..I was beyond drenched on Popeye

I'm not sure what I'm going to do. It will depends on temps and whether or not I'll want a hoodie for mornings/evenings.

I carried a small Fossil cross-body (no idea what the style name is, but it's about the size of a Kindle, maybe a little smaller). I kept it on for most rides, except Gringott's, where we used the free lockers anyway.

I carried a crossbody bag and just put it in a locker for the rides it wasn't allowed on. It was hot while we were there, so I carried around bottles of smartwater. One night, I went back to the park after dinner and just carried a lanyard. It was really nice not having anything on my back.

For our trip this past summer, we wore lanyards (they're so convenient and fun!) with our tickets, room keys, and passes. We also carried a lightweight day pack (the kind of thing that folds up into its own tiny pouch) for water and sunscreen. But we stayed onsite, and sometimes if we were heading back into the parks in the late afternoon/evening, we ditched the backpack altogether.

For our trip in 2011 I decided to buy (from Amazon for under $10.00 back then) a water resistent bag that is meant for scubba divers. It fit 2 android smartphones, car keys, cash and cards and that's it (sunscreen went in my husband's cargo shorts lol). It wasn't overly large and didn't get in the way. It has a large strap that can be adjusted to wear around your waist (like a fanny pack did-but this looks so much better than that and isn't as bulky) or you can wear it as a crossbody.

The reason I like the bag is because I didn't worry about our cell phones when on water rides. We had put them in a ziplock bag and then inside the other bag and it never got a drop of water in it.

I don't like the roller coasters that have loops so I just stayed behind with our bag while my husband rode those types of rides. It's also easy to get in and out of the lockers as it is bright blue with yellow as well as a black strap and doesn't take up much space.

I personally don't like to actually wear lanyards (even though I have one attached to my car keys) so that's why I wouldn't personally wear one in the parks (I prefer something around my waist or crossbody than around my neck but that's a personal preference).

I just stumbled on this thread because I bought a lanyardi phone case from lanyardi.com and i think its going to be great for when my family and I are able to get back to the parks.

I tried the bag that the previousposter had mentioned but found it to be too awkward to carry around and get to my items so I had to look for an alternative. Id like to try to find a wrist lanyard too but this crossbody iphone case should work pretty well I think as my pass and cards fit in the back.

I use a crossbody bag and/or a mini backpack or a drawstring backpack. I am cold natured and like to have a jacket with me. After my first visit, I realized that using the lockers weren't as stressful as I had made them out to be in my mind.

I use a crossbody bag. I am thinking just using a lanyard or wallet this trip to avoid the lockers.
