Is it me or is anyone else in vacation panic mode? Seems like we have SO much piling up on us before vacation. Baseball tournaments, yardwork, my son is having some medical issues, etc. I am now beginning to wonder when I will pack. :cool1: Anyone else starting to stress about getting ready to head to US/IOA?? or am I just nuts?

I know what you mean cause we go down monday and lets see,
my 11 ds burnt hid leg on a hot motor cycle pipe and we dealing with trying to heal it and me I have an eye problem so all in all the stress it getting a little much.

nope--no time to stress Melanie :rotfl2: my yardwork is about dun (2 bushes left to trim and spray my Round-up  ) yardsale is over wit and just workin' now....altho, my "summer hours" start next week, and 3x week my work day goes from 6.5 hrs/day to 4 hrs./day :woohoo: ....that will give me some more free time....... so, no, not stressin'.......yet! ;)

(gimmie time tho)

I have several graduation parties, the after prom party to work, graduation of my only, and a party for 100 the day before we leave for Universal. Not stressin' at all!! When you see me walking around naked in the parks, you will know I didn't have time to pack!

:scared1:

(at least you'll be easy to pick outta the crowd) :rolleyes1

To add to my mania here...I just looked at my car. I need to go to the DMV to get my license plate renewal sticker AND get it inspected. Good grief!

are you past renewal?? can you do it online and print an "instant" one till yours comes in the mail? (we can do that in PA)

It expires in June. The DMV isnt bad...it is having it inspected that is the PITA!

We are just about ready for our trip the last week of June. I still have to pick up the Black Sabbath T shirts and studded collars and the wife and daughter are being fitted for their leather biker shorts today but other than that we are ready.Whoops almost forgot have an appointment for the whole family on Tuesday for our new tattoos!

don't forget about those new piercings you were tellin' me about

all nakie tourists must wear sunblock, it's the law;)

sorry to hear the hurdles facing us all....let's all take a big running leap:woohoo:

after the latest crisis in my dysfunctional family i have decided to henceforth throw my hands up & roll with it. whatever mess before or after they manage to create will await my return. Get outta my way -- i'm goin to my happy place(s) - both of them:cloud9:

ps b's mom - free inspections:eek: ; i tried to schedule one on Friday (due end of month; usually have it done by now but; fell behind due to my mom's recent hospitalization & PT appts. 3 X week). I was told they are doing the 'leftovers' that expired in May. Consider myself lucky to be scheduled the week before we leave for trip. Even called a couple other local garages, all the same. Since when did people start waiting until their stickers expired...thought there was a hefty fine for that.

janet...it's only a fine if you get caught :thumbsup2 i always call the month before my inspection is due because i know that month is peeps who forgot or are waiting till the last minute. this way, i have plenty of dates available to choose from..... and yes, we both get inspections for free at the dealership we bought our cars at (Honda)...free for as long as we own the car (have to pay for emissions tho.....and we live in Berks Co., and we just started having to have emissions the last couple of years...so, the first 10 or 11 years I lived here, we didn't have emissions and our inspections were free  )..... okay, i am rambling.....

lesson :teacher: : call the month before your sticker expires..... then you'll be :thumbsup2

In NC we have 30 days after the expiration on the inspection, and 15 days after the expiration on the plates. But I always try to get it done on time.

we leave wednesday and i have not even begun to pack!

i figure, at the end of the day, i really just need my unmentionables /camera / memory stick /license (so i can drink of course) and ap. if need be, you can find SOMETHING to tide you over. that being said, you don't have to be naked - maybe the luau peope will let you borrow a loin cloth or grass skirt? that could be sexy! lol.

anything else to add to the bare minimums? tehnically you can go without unmentionables i guess! :)

:rotfl2: - ok that was funny.

and yes - i am a fan! my dad is retired military so we moved around a lot. plus, a family of six cost a fortune to fly - so we drove everywhere. Even from Watertown, NY to disney once. anyway - i bring that up to say that we spent a lot of time in the car and my dad would play the Hitchiker's Guide on cassette! (we have since updated to cd) fond childhood memories! I actually wrote one of my entrance essays for college on " the meaning of life the universe and everything". LOL. i am surprised they still let me in!

my brother used that tag line once in a resignation letter! classic!

have you read the books? I recommend the book on cd if you have not. it gives so much insight into the movie - but it definitely takes a strange sense of humor! i cannot say that i have run into anyone outside of my fam who likes it so i am glad to know there is someone else out there.

DH isn't retired military; did have several tours in 'Nam; before my time. Several family members (they're from Richmond/DC) are 'lifers';) Seems as though they all work for govt or military in some capacity. Know we got a good mortgage re-fi rate a few years ago & a fantastic fare on Carnival using the DD214:thumbsup2 .

:rotfl: always a good thing to be witty in a resignation letter (and not burn any bridges, never know when you'll run into the perps again lol).

Perhaps youngest DS can take inspiration from your essay:idea: ; he's got few up & coming in a couple of years.

I haven't read the book, should try the audio. It's funny when the DVD came out the Disney Movie Club was giving away a litho if you bought it thru them. DH was tickled with it as a gift.

The movie reminded me of monty python for some reason. Wonder if any of them were involved in it.

Last trip i figured i was an old hand & would just toss some stuff in the suitcases the last day - i was up past midnight serching for clean clothes for son; never again. I'm planning on having the bags packed this time a week ahead so they can't wear the stuff & get it dirty.

hut-hut, time for u & melanie too -- get packing

and that's an order!

Packing doesn't take that long. The list is important, I usually start making it at work a week before.

Two days before driving up, I'll get out the travel bags and start putting things in them, like the camera, charger, phone charger, park tickets, and sun tan lotion. The day before, all I have to pack is cloths. Then I have to visit Publix and stock the coolers.

So I wouldn't say you need to have everything packed days in advance, but the list is important so you don't forget anything.
