I know you guys have the same problem, with your scales fluctuating... I am getting soooo tired of it!! This morning, I probably weighed 7 times, and it ranged 3 pounds, depending on the few inches that I would move the scales! It's just so frustrating! I know that electronic scales shouldn't be in the bathroom, but besides the kitchen, that is the only area in our house that is not carpeted!!! (and, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to keep it in the kitchen...I'd hate to scare someone that could see me walking around in my birthday suit... ;) ) What's a person to do???

What brand of scale do you have? I am finding I have the same problem. I have a Taylor that I bought at target. Mine seems to fluctuate by two pounds.

I have the same problem and it is so frustrating. When people post these 2.25 lb losses I wonder how they can be as accurate as .25 lb.

I'm lucky if mine is in the same 5 lb range from day to day!!

We have electronic scales and keep them in the bathroom too. Maybe that's not the most accurate location but its the only place that works well for us. I rely on my WW weigh ins for accuracy and use my home scale just to get an idea of how things are going knowing its sometimes going to be a little off.

Good luck!!!

Here comes the scale Nazi! :)

If the bathroom is your only uncarpeted room (besides the kitchen....), could it be possible to keep it in the bedroom, and just take it out once a week when you need it? A pain in the butt, true, but it will help keep your scale more accurate.

Also, if you're a WWer, I personally would ditch the scale. I find it more harmful to weigh on it than to just rely strictly on the WW scale.

My scale is in my bedroom (hard wood floor). It also has the body fat tester, and that fluctuates too.
I know my weight fluctuates due to water retention, but how much of a weight fluctuation should I expect when my period is due (sorry men!)?

My Taylor (that I bought new) fluctuated like that.... but now I have a Tanita and it's the exactly same to .2lbs everytime I step off, back on, off again & back on. LOL I still do that even though I know it's going to be the same, I guess I'm testing it everytime. LOL

I got rid of my home scale because it fluctuated so bad all the time and I never knew where I was really at. Now I rely on WW for official weight and we have a doctor's type scale at work so I usually weigh when I'm at work for unofficial weight. I know, I know, you're not supposed to weigh in between, but I can't resist:p

LOL, this reminds me of this morning, my scale is in the bathroom, always in the same spot and when I went on it this morning and it said 196 dressed and with sneakers on , I thought oh, it's not centered. I got off it and the gage goes down to 0, I lightly touch the scale and the dial goes back down to 0, I go back on it and it says 196 lbs. I went on it 3 times and it said the same thing, then I started moving it to different areas...same thing 196, I took my shoes off and it says just a hair less, I'm a happy camper today, if you think that I started at 224 lbs.
I wish someone had videotaped me , it would be one of those America's funniest videos moments!

snackstacky... only weigh once a week? Are you kidding?! I'm too hyper to do that!

My scales were nicer to me this morning. I weighed 3 times, and even after moving them... I am finally able to claim my 15 lb. clippie!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc I couldn't wait to hop over to this board all day to get it! ;)

Have you measured yourself yet? I like using that as a measure of success better than the scale. The bloat fairy picks on me too often for me to use the scale as my only measure.

Okay, I'm LOL at you walking around in your birthday suit. You made me giggle :)

No, I haven't measured myself yet, because I don't think I could do it by myself. And, I sure don't know who I would trust to help me either!! I would love to know my measurements though, because I do think that they are alot more accurate. I'm hoping to join Curves one day, hopefully in the not too future.

john... yes, you are correct - I could get away with "murder" in this case... ;)
