Ok I need quite a few suggestions!

I need help! We are going with a large group and for the most part I'm doing the planning. Everyone is being really laid back which is awesome, but I'm in need of help!

The day we go to Hollywood we do not care for Hollywood restaurants for one reason or another. We were thinking of either going to a nearby resort and doing dinner and then going back to Hollywood or possibly leaving alltogether and just eating at Epcot instead. Can anyone recommend a restaurant in one of the nearby hotels to Hollywood? If you don't want to eat at the sit downs in the park, where would you suggest to eat? We are on the dining plan if that helps.

Also we will be spending two days at Magic Kingdom. One of the nights, we will be eating at the Polynesian, but the other day, we aren't sure what we feel like eating. Again, eating at a resort is ok with us as long as its not at the Polynesian and its close by.

The day we go to Animal Kingdom, we plan on eating at AKL. How is Boma? I've looked at the menu but having never had that type of food, would you recommend it? For the most part, I think we are adventurous eaters, but most are major meat eaters. Suggestions?

Also we plan on eating downtown and the dining plan...any suggestions?

First off, Hi

Here's my first question:
You say you don't really care for the hollywood studios restaurants, is Brown derby included in that? Just checking, because I was afraid to try it, but FH & I LOVED it! If you haven't tried it, I suggest this one, especially for a group.

As far as your MK day/dinners go, why not head over to the GF and eat at Narcossee, or Citricos?? Both are really good, but Citricos, in my opinion, is the best restaurant on property.

As far as AK, we really enjoed Jiko. Cannot speak for Boma, as it is still on our list of must tries.

And for DTD, Wolfgang puck is always a winner with a larger group, something for everyone.

We actually don't care for the HS restaurants either...we decided to do a late 1:00 lunch at Le Cellier in Epcot on our HS day. That way, quick boat over, its near the international gateway. I would suggest for that one try either Le Cellier or Chefs de France or Tutto italia.

For your MK day...what about Kona Cafe at the Poly? Or if you're already eating there, maybe 1900 park fare or the wave.

DH and I treated my parents to Boma last fall and we all loved it. There were some exotic items and "everyday" items. The desserts were the best part IMO.

I totally hear you, I never eat at DHS! Whenever we plan on going to DHS, we make ressies elsewhere...unless we dont mind spending the money, then I'll eat at Brown Derby cuz it IS delicious (cobb salad and filet mignon with my fave wine, conundrum? um yeah)...But it always feels weird to me to spend that kind of money in a theme park setting...
so we almost ALWAYS go to DTD to get dinner on DHS nites. If I bought park hopper passes, I'd prob go to another park to eat. But since park hoppers dont make sense for it, we dont get them.
You could take a boat over to one of the resorts like the swan/dolphin, beach/yacht club, or boardwalk...theres a ton of restaurants there.
On ur MK day, I'd try The Wave...its new and in the Contemporary, I just happen to love that resort. I, too, have heard wonderful things about Citrico's...again, on the pricey side. My all time fave restaurant is Cali Grill also in the contemporary...I'm just assuming since ur traveling with a large group u prob dont wanna go to a very costly restaurant, but if u dont mind, I highly recommend that restaurant to anyone.
Also for DTD, I love Earl of Sandwhich which is counter service, Wolfgang Pucks is also good, theres a new place called Paradiso that sounds awesome! And Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex is always a good atmosphere, esp if there'll be kids...my Dsis recently went to T-Rex and LOVED it...now I cant wait to try it!

Quite a bit depends on the group makeup, but...

DHS - Best bet may be to hit up Epcot if none of the TS in DHS fit your fancy. This would be assuming you have hoppers, if not, take a look into Cape May (they have a seafood themed dinner buffet (it's not all seafood though)). It's located at the Beach Club. If looking for Signature, Yachtsman is also right there, and Flying Fish is across the pond at Boardwalk.

MK - 1900 Park Fare has a decent character dinner (from what I've heard) and some of the best interaction with the step sisters. If character meals aren't your thing, check into Grand Floridian Cafe (at, uh, the Grand Floridian) or The Wave (at Contemporary). If looking for a rowdy meal, Whispering Canyon Cafe over at the Wilderness Lodge (not on the monorail, but just a boat ride away from MK) would also fit the bill. Signatures have already been recommended as well (Citrico's and Narcosse's).

AK - From what I've heard (and what I hope, since I'll be there in Sept) Boma is quite good. The food is "African Inspired" so it won't be full on "strange" to you. They also reportedly have a good amount of standard favorites for those less adventurous. Alternatively Jiko would work as a convienant Signature location or Sanaa as another standard sit down meal (Jiko is also in AKL - Jambo House, while Sanaa is AKV - Kidanii).

I don't do DTD so I have no thoughts there. Just make sure to check the Dining Plan brochure to see if whereever you're interested in is on the plan

For a group that large, the Biergarten in Germany may be a lot of fun. Plan your time when the band is scheduled to play for max. fun. Everyone would probably fit at one table too.

If fantasmic is showing your DHS day & your group wants to go, it may be worth your while to do a fantasmic dinner package so your group has a chance at getting to sit together without waiting so long. We did that the year there were 16 of us and it was really nice being able to walk in only 45 minutes early and get a spot with everyone together. I know you aren't excited about eating at DHS but seeing fantasmic may make it worth it for you.

You are also close to the Boardwalk area and all its restaurants.....another option. Or how about Cape May or somewhere at the Swan. Those are all close as well.
