anyone know if rates usually post for non AP holders?
I am orderinq a AP for myself tonight online, but I'm
sure I won't know the AP number until its mailed to
me which will probably be a few weeks, +

I have never been asked for my AP number on the phone when I called, only when I check in.

According to my AAA travel agent, who had trouble getting pricing for me for the Mickeys Merry Holiday Package (we wanted to stay at the GF which wasn't one of the featured resorts), the story is that Disney reservations is still digging their way out of the mess left in the wake of Hurricane Charley. Computers don't work well without electricity. Employees don't work well when their home life is in chaos. So I guess maybe we should cut them some slack.

That being said, I am as impatient as everybody else is to know how much this vacation is going to cost.

I finally did get the price from my AAA TA and I don't think the package is actually any cheaper than it would cost to get all the items included in the package a la carte. This is my family's first trip to the world (well I was there for one day in 1972, but it was hardly more than the Magic Kingdom back then). We're pretty excited about it. We've decided we are going whether we can get it for less or not. Still, I sure would like to know....

Are you talking about the discounts that will be coming out next week? And are you saying that GF is not going to have any discounts at all? I sure hope they have some type of AP discount.

No I wasn't trying to say that there wouldn't be discounts at the GF. I don't know that. I'm hoping there will be. I'm just a novice at this. There was a package that AAA put together that I was looking at, but it had nothing to do with discounts. Sorry to scare you like that.

got an email telling me that she was going to be out this week but would have files with her....reason for message was to reassure me that she would be able to apply discounts (if they come out) but might not notify me right away. Anyway, this email combined with the post from the TA on the other board, combined with the date, late august, and finally combined with the post earlier from someone that AP rates would be out the 25th or 26th has gotten my hopes up. I truly believe that they will be out this week

Even though I am not going until next April, I am finding this thread very interesting...I've never done this code thing before..would want general public room only codes. Are people calling CRO every day at 7am? And checking on this forum and Mousesavers?

Isn't Windows Service Pack 2 coming out around Aug 26th or so? I heard it was already supposed to be out but that Microsoft was giving businesses extra time to "prepare" for it. Maybe that's what is holding up the codes. Wouldn't want to have to deal with all those changes in ressies in addition to new security software...

I have DK from MJ. Maybe they are going together? She said she was headed to WDW. I feel a little guilty that they will have to be on the phone during their vacations. But at least I don't have to do it. I still check everyday for codes, but I'm not up before 7 AM doing it any more.

Disclaimer: I use Windows XP home.

Don't know if they use Windows XP or some other operating system, but if they did, that sure would explain why they have system problems.

I have found that the rates usually come out around the time the previous rates expire. For instance these rates expire on 8/28/04, so the next set will probably be available around that date. I've been doing this for about 6 years, and it has followed that pattern most of the time. I hope this is helpfull.
