OK, I guess I will start the Waiting for OCT-DEC AP rate thread

plutosmyfav,

I don't think the rates will be the same as October is regular season while Sept. is value season.

when i just called about extending my reservation he mumbled a rate of 390 for a waterview conceirge room at the BC. i asked him to repeat himself and he said .. oh i don't have a rate.

SO ... it looks at though they will be the same for october regardless of the switch to regular season:)

I so hope they are the same since I am currently holding 3 ressies with the last 2 nts at reg. season AAA rate.

My 2nd ressie goes from Sept.29-Oct.9 at the Sept AP rate. He was definitely mistaken. I would call back and see if you get someone a little more informed. I did it this way in case the new rates aren't as good as the Sept rates. I have 12 nts at the Sept rate.

I am unfortunately waiting until January.. aka an eternity... so I will not see my codes for a long time!

I will just patiently wait for my 90-day mark to call for PS and be happy with that for awhile.
:)

If the Ap rates for October are going to be the same as Sept. it seems silly that Disney wouldn't just have the code cover a longer period of time. The summer AP rate is higher than the Sept due to the change in season. I sure hope they are the same that would be sweet!

well i called back. the lady checked the dates for me and they didn't have anything available for checking in those few days early. she at least seemed confident in her answer.. and i was just glad to know i still had a reservation and that guy didn't completely lose it!

i asked her about october rates then. she said "i can't tell you when or how often to call .. but i will tell you to keep in touch often" ;) so that's a good sign!

on a sad note though ... she said that they have been REALLY busy for the regular season (october) and that the rooms that they release will more than likely be very limited.
i don't like the sound of that :(

i'll be so much more relaxed once the stupid rates are here ... whether i get them or not :) ha ha :)

My theory is that Disney isn't releasing all the months at one time so they don't have to pay for as many extra cm's to man the phones when they come out. Whe would they pay overtime and extra hours to give out rooms for less if they can spread it out over the months and avoid people being on hold for an hour or possibly crashing the system with an overload of calls. Just a thought.

We are off for 21 days--Dec 18-Jan 9th. DH said we could spend the whole time in WDW *-IF-* we can afford it. He would also prefer somewhere with a kitchen.

I am hoping for a AP rate for Ft. Wilderness Cabins.

Does anyone know if they had AP rates last year? What were they?

My theory is that if the Disney CM's were all on the same 'page' there wouldn't be so many calls to begin with. How many of us have had to call multiple times to get the facts straight-and not the times people are not eligible for the pin# and keep trying back. Many people called this a.m. and some CM's had no idea about the Sept. AP code.

SO ... i called ... and i got a CM who didn't seem to have a clue ... WONDERFUL!!!
he tried to add the 2 september nights to extend my ressies so that i could get the AP and value rates...
well, he got me the AP rate for the 2 september nites but told me that he couldn't get them for the october nights. i told him that i thought i should get at least the value rate and he took a second and then said "well we don't have any rooms for the value rate"

so i'm thinking ... but i already have the room ... shouldn't it just apply to that? but i just left it at that and i didn't ask any more questions because he seemed so confused.

at one point in the call he actually deleted my entire reso and had to call the beach club with guest services to get it back!!!
so i gave up!!

he said that he thought the best thing i could do is just keep calling and get the october AP rate. so i left everything the way it was and didn't add any nights ... if it was going to benefit the majority of my stay.

can anyone tell me if i should've gotten the value rate for those october nights?! or do they really only give so many rooms at the value rate? now i'm the one confused!

I have posted this before concerning CM's I had called about a week ago to make ressies for Oct. and Dec. (at rack rate, hoping for discounts or I may cancel one of the weeks) Got my dates for Oct, was told there was nothing available at WL for my Dec. dates. so went to the WDW website, plugged in the dates and there were rooms but at a VERY HIGH rate, went to the AAA site, there were rooms available at rack rate, so back on the phone to Disney and guess what there were rooms available! Booked at rack, and now I am waiting! I am an Aries and I do not like waiting! So if you get a cm that is confused hang up and call back, my phone calls were within 15 minutes of one another. Then when you get your confirmation in the mail make sure to check it, I received mine for the Oct dates but still nothing on the Dec. dates, so I called again to make sure I had ressies, When they give you the confirmation numbers on the phone WRITE THEM DOWN! along with the rates.

Count us in on the wait.

As with Cindy21494, we are also going to be there for only 1 night before our cruise. Hoping to get a better deal at CR.

was up a 2:30am this morning checking mousesavers site.
I'm a little off this morning.

Tried to start a Oct.-Dec. thread before someone pointed out that this one already existed.

I'm just feeling really lousy...
Can't get an email
Can't get a postcard
Can't get a discount
Can't start a thread

This means the differnce between onsite and offsite for us.
Oct. 3-14th.
I feel so unwanted! :confused3

I do have this, however, to put it all in perspective...
My family volunteered at our church last night. Our church participates in an "Interfaith hospitality network"--churches take turns housing homeless FAMILIES for a week at a time. We live in a very small city and we had Two guest families. Two too many, I think. One family was a Mom, Dad, and 3yr girl and 2yr girl. Other family was Mom, Dad, and 3 sons ages 7,5,3.

I'll just have to keep reminding myself through this wait for codes that those kids will probably not see disney at all when they are young.

Oh, I think I made myself feel even worse now, those little babies sleeping on cots at my church and me complaining that my vacation isn't cheap enough even though I'm going either way
:(

I know what you mean mom of five. Sometimes we just need to stop and re-evaluate things.

I admit I got caught up in the whole "poor me, I didn't get a discount e-mail or postcard when it seems like everyone else did". But then I stopped and thought - so what if someone else pays less than I did? We can afford to go whether I get a discount or not and I am very grateful for that. Some people never get to go to Disney World and this will be my 9th trip.

Even more than being able to afford the trip I am so grateful that my family is healthy and we get to spend a wonderful week together. Plus, once I get to Disney World I never even think about what I paid for our reservation because being there is priceless.

still no discount here either. ::sob:: Patiently (yeah, right!) waiting for something for 10/15 to 10/18.

I think this releasing codes for one month at a time may bite them in the butt especially if they wait this late to release them for the next month. The goal is to lure more people in, right, not get existing ressies discounted. When they released them 2-3 months at a time about 6 weeks before the first day they gave people up to 4 months in advance which is a good amount of time to find decent airfare. The closer you get to last minute, the harder it's going to be for people to get good airfare and therefor the fewer people who will take a spur of the moment trip, right?

This is our first trip with AP's. We have always gone with a package through the Magic Kingdon Club because the club was a company perk for DH. This trip I purchased the AP's because we are going for 10 days AND because I thought I could get a better hotel price. I NEVER imagined this is what I would have to do to get it. With the Magic Kingdom Club I just made one phone call when I had time and that was it. This time my kiddos asked if we could make a second trip with the AP's. At first I said yes, but after this, I think I might think about some of the other places to vacation! Anyway, some of these posts are giving me a much needed laugh.
Like I said last night, I will be here in the morning with my bottle of Tylenol, daiquri maker, 3 sandwiches, speed dail #1 set for CRO, speed dail #2 set for AP anxiety disorder hot line, and a child stationed incase I nod off at any point!

:wave2: I do enjoy all the posts and info and knowing "somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight" oh sorry wrong company!

I was thinking the exact same thing. I think a majority of people that go to WDW plan the trip several months in advance (I know we do!). I just don't see someone who wasn't planning on going getting a postcard now and saying "Wow, we can stay at Disney for $49/night in October! Let's go!" I'm sure some people might but not the vast majority. There's too much to arrange - travel plans, getting time off work, taking kids out of school, etc and not enough time.

We're waiting for Dec. rates too... does anyone else feel the rates this year aren't going to be as good as last years?

Last Dec., the AP rate for value season at the Poly (garden view) was $170; with this new code it is $209 for Sept. value season. It seems that if they release AP rates for Dec. it will probably also be $209. That's not much of a savings over the general room-only code that is out now for Sept. of $219.

I was thinking of purchasing an AP just for the room savings, but it seems like it might no longer be worth it as long as they keep releasing general codes that are only a few dollars difference over the AP rates.

I hope I'm wrong because I would love to get the Poly GVC for $235, like it was last Dec.!
