OK....how about inspirational quotes?

You just inspired me with your dancing in the rain quote. Tyler's scouting family lost one of their young men this year in a very tragic accident. He and his brother (Who were totally inseparable) were hunting together with their dad, and the younger brother's gun accidental discharged, killing his older brother. One of the saddest moments of my life. What a tragedy for that family. The way the boys scouting brothers came together for that family was truly inspirational for so many of us. Sometimes our kids teach us a lesson we never saw coming. Several weeks after the funeral services, the boys decided they needed to have some closure for themselves. They planned and orchestrated a celebration of his life and it was truly a celebration. Those pictures are just what "dancing in the rain" has come to mean to me. Will be a nice little memorial for him and a reminder to my son that you have to remember to dance in the rain.
Thanks for that, Lisa.

oh, how extremely sad for the family and all the boys. What a wonderful thing the boys did to honor their friend, his family must of been so touched. It is a hard lesson to learn that life can be so short. You've now brought tears to my eyes, so many people have taken my "Dancing in the rain" to heart....I just need to work harder on it every day!

Our Venture groups was co-ed, and while DS loved the camps they didn't seem to do much in the way of activities - most meetings they'd cook out (weather permitting) and he got sick of eating bonfire pizza and stinking of woodsmoke every Thursday:rolleyes1 I did explain that the purpose of Ventures is for the troop to organise activities, so if he was bored he should organise something more exciting, but it didn't really sink in....

I bought a colour wheel from Bazzil and I find it really helpful, especially when I'm putting together swaps and want to use stash rather than buying specific colours:thumbsup2

ETA I did pages for DIT's son's Eagle project in the picture swap but I didn't take photos :headache: you might be able to find the archived thread?
