OK, Here's The Plan

We have to book one night for our arrival day, the rest of our stay is offsite. I am considering booking one night at POP for $99., and buying the dining plan. For our family of 4 the dining plan will cost $115. We will also buy 4 1 day base tickets, 3 adult & 1 child. My plan is to buy 3 adult 10 day premium, no expire tickets through the mousesavers link to ticketmania.(Significantly cheaper than WDW). I will then trade in my (4) 1 day tickets for 1 child's 10 day, premium, no expire ticket at the ticket center (I have already confirmed with a CM that I can use all 4 tickets towards 1 new ticket). Child's ticket is still more expensive at WDW, but I can live with the difference to use the dining plan.

We will use 2 cs credits for lunch at Epcot the first day (will pay cash for the kids to order from children's menu), 2 TS credits for LeCellier for dinner (again, cash for kids menu). We can then use the remaining 2 CS for lunch the next day at MK, ( the 1/2 chick & ribs combo, along with a child's meal should feed us all) and the remaining 2 TS at CRT for dinner. Our 10 yr old must pay the adult price for the dining plan, but is still young enough to be allowed to order from the kids menu. So we can use her TS for one of us to order an adult entree. I took a look at the menu's for CRT, LeCellier, Cosmic Rays, and an average Epcot counter service, and it looks like the 4 of us could eat, for 2 days ( breakfast in room) for about $140., and have 2 really, really nice dinners that we wouldn't otherwise splurge on. Adding in the difference for buying the child's 10 day ticket from WDW instead of ticketmania, & the out of pocket costs for the kids meals, the total cost to use the plan would come to $175., and we would have 2 really nice TS meals that we would NEVER do otherwise. Make any sense?

I think you talked to a CM in travel, not Guest Services. The Disney rule has always been that only one ticket can be applied to the cost of a new ticket.

I also was told by guest services that you cannot use multiple tickets to make one larger one, even if you are upgrading the larger one.

Just remember that the dining credits expire at midnight on the day you check out. Also a few people have stated after they check out they have had issues with using the remaining credits so have the CM at checkout check to make sure your credits are still available for use. THis will hopefully clear up any issues you have before you get to the restaurant.

Have a wonderful trip. :wizard:

The CM I spoke to was definately from Ticket Services; I called the regular number and explained what I was doing to the CM I spoke with. She said I would need to speak to Ticket Services, and she put me on hold while she tried to reach them herself. She spoke to the other CM, and then transferred me directly to him. I was very clear that I was buying the single tickets as part of the dining plan, and that I wanted to use all four tickets towards one, single multiday ticket. He told me it was no problem. My only concern is will I be able to get paper tickets at POP; I don't want them as part of our room keys because I am upgrading them.

Seems like a lot to go thru. They do expire the day you check out so if I'm right and you are staying one night and moving off site you would have to eat all the meals before midnight the day you check out.

That's true, but we will have 36 hours to use all of our credits. We are arriving at 10:15 a.m, should be at the resort by 11:30. We can have lunch at the food court at POP, then go to Epcot for the day. The next day we would be at MK for the entire day, except to go back mid afternoon to check in to our offsite resort. By that time we would probably be ready for a swim anyway.

Despite having received a verbal assurance that I could upgrade the tickets, I have just sent an email with my inquiry so that I can get confirmation in writing. I will post the "official response" as soon as I hear back.
