It has gone up I do believe since the last time we had it. I surely don't remember paying 100 bucks. :faint: So not so sure if we will go for it. We don't eat a TS meal every day by any means.

If it costs $100, with a 20% discount you break even at $500. I use my Disney credit card points to buy ours. I do think the price has doubled since we began buying it.:sad2:

Couple years ago it was only $75. The last time I bought I said it would be the last time. TS restaurants are not what they use to be. If I can get 3 visits or a family trip out of it, I may buy again. You just need to figure what restaurants you will be eating at and if you drink alcohol then that helps defray the cost as well.

I agree with R&R, take a look at how you are going to eat and see if it makes sense. We just got back from a family trip for 9 days, and buying the TIW made sense for us. With our eating habits, we came out ahead.

I'm kicking myself for not having bought one; our trips were for Thanksgiving and New Year's, so I knew I would have three blackout days. But we could have used it for a couple of meals then, and now I have a third trip planned with no blackout days. Bummer.

Even if you aren't eating TS every day, remember that it can be used at the CS restaurants at AK and also at most of the lounges, including TOTWL. If you consume any sort of adult beverages, either with your meal or at a lounge, the savings can really start to add up.

I bought the TIW card for our trip last November which was just DH and I. We ate at Artist Point, Boma (breakfast), 50's PTC (dinner), and Sanaa (dinner). We were there for the W&D 1/2 Marathon and I was surprised that the TIW was accepted at the ESPN Grille (?) at the WWoS complex. We grabbed lunch there while we went to the expo for packet pick-up. On top of that, we had drinks at TOTWL one night as well. I added up our receipts and we've already saved about $60. The main reason we bought it was for our upcoming trip in October. We will be a party of 8 and we have meals planned at Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill, 50's PTC, and Boma so I know that we will most definitely come out ahead:cool1:.

Yeah I think I am going to go for it because we will be back next year so between the two trips... we will see savings. We always eat at Flame Tree at AK and sometimes ESPN. We are planning about 4 TS meals on this trip...so far.

You may want to take a look at the dining discounts offered to AP holders and DVC members. There's more than there used to be and depending on where you eat and what times that may be the better way to go since you've already paid for those cards. :goodvibes

I am going to check that out too. THANKS for the reminder. :)

The combination of DVC and AP makes getting a TiW card almost a no-brainer. With the AP & DVC, you'll find yourself making even more trips to WDW (or spending more days there) and that leads to more TS meals. Before you know it, you're eating at a Signature restaurant and realizing that the meal plus adult beverages is going to get you 25% or more of the way to payback.

Nice comparison of discounts here.

Very nice comparison! I needed this in May when I completely missed out on the 10% off at Artist Point. It was a last minute walk up when we couldn't get in to Whispering Canyon but I was kicking myself later when I realized that I hadn't even asked. :sad2: We made certain to use it at Trail's End though but for pricing between the two I would have preferred to have gotten it at Artist Point. :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 If you can get 10% off with just an AP or DVC card then it takes even longer to make up for the price of the TIW. But it does depend on locations you want to dine at and there are more discounts available for lunch compared to dinner. However adjusting your main meal by an hour or two might make it worth it.

When making this comparison, keep in mind that the AP or DVC discounts are on very few restaurants and do no include adult beverages.

Yes, but every "free" or included discount still makes it that much longer to earn back the cost of the TIW.

I'm not sure when you're traveling, but now the TIW is blocked out most of June next year and holiday weeks as opposed to the actual days starting August 1st this year for certain restaurants.

"Validity Dates:

**Victoria& Albert’s will honor Tables in Wonderland discount through July 31st, 2014. As of August 1st, 2014 the restaurant will no longer participate in Tables in Wonderland.

*Beginning August 1st 2014, 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey’s, ‘Ohana (Dinner Only), Cinderella’s Royal Table, LeChefs de France, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, and Le Cellier Steakhouse will be subject to the additional blockout weeks of: November 23-29, 2014; December 21-27, 2014; March 8-April 4, 2015; May 31-June 20, 2015.

Blockout dates for Tables in Wonderland are Mother’s Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Tables in Wonderland is valid for one year from date of purchase."

Thankfully all of our trips next year do not fall during these times, but they definitely took some of the advantage away from us if we were as we eat at a few of the places blocked out during those times.

:thumbsup2 True LOL

Is TIW valid 12 months exactly to the day or is it still valid until the end of the month the following year? TIA

Read that quote carefully. TiW is still valid in June, except for those specific 7 restaurants. All the other participating restaurants will continue to honor it. Its also good the other days in that paragraph. The only blanket TiW blackout dates are as stated in the next paragraph.

Still valid until the end of the following month next year.
