I know with all the insane lawsuits from people that companies are finding more and more that they need to cover themselves, but I saw a commercial today that totally floored me. It's the one for Orbitz gum with Snoop Dogg. Have you seen it? They talk about having bad breath and he gets sent to hell and then the Orbitz lady shows up and gives him some gum and then they show him in a Snoop Dogg heaven. In the bottom in small print it says.

Dramatization. Orbitz will not get you into heaven.

Um...DUH! Is it really that bad that Orbitz thought they had to put that in there??? Like someone was going to sue them from the grave because they chewed Orbitz and then passed away and didn't go to heaven :confused3 What has this world come to!!! :rotfl2:

:rotfl:

Things really have gotten ridiculous, haven't they?

It was a humorous disclaimer, not a legal one to avoid lawsuits. I've seen them on other commercials as well.

Really?? I've never really noticed them before on Orbitz commercials. I'm glad they weren't serious! ;)

Oh, that was just sort of tongue in cheek. If I remember correctly, the Orbitz commercials have a campy, kind of silly feel, so I think it was keeping it in that vein just to be funny.

I knew Orbitz was campy, but It's so hard to know in this day in age with all the silly disclaimers that have to be there. Hence the Suzuki commercial with the guy walking out his front door and diving of the cliff to get to his car and the disclaimer says :

Professional stunt person. Do not attempt this at home.

Yeah, because everyone lives on the edge of a cliff! :rotfl2:

I just have to say what a cutie your dog is!!!

I just saw that commercial for the 1st time. I thought it was funny. :lmao:
By the way - your puppy is adorable!! pluto:

And I still want to know who he gets home everyday. I am still baffled! :confused3 ;)

I finally figured that part out...

Rock Climbing! :teeth:

I'd say the commericals are a hit... WE'RE talking about them on a public forum, aren't we??

<insert robot voice here> Must go get Orbitz. Must go get Orbitz...

LOL!!

Awwww....thanks for all the puppy compliments. We've only had her for a week and she is almost 9 weeks old and so sweet :) :)

BTW. I always wondered how that guy got home too!!!

Karen,
Your puppy is sooooo cute, I actually made DH come over here and look at her on the computer. He agrees she is adorable

Regarding the commercial, I like Snoop, a lot - but think the commercial is dumb. Whatever.

i didn't catch what that small print said, but i thought it may have been something to the effect of what you wrote.. i don't think it was a disclosure so much as just a goofy little aside. most of the orbit commercials are silly and make no sense.. but i've seen other companies use silly disclaimers before.
::edited to add:: for all we know orbit gum may get you into heaven, then we'll all be scratching out heads and wondering why on earth we didn't believe snoop dog!
