OJ Simpson sentencing

Who cares at this point whether it is about Vegas or Nicole and Ron...the bottomline is that the JUICE is in JAIL.
Really? It's more important to you that a person gets to serve a long sentence that doesn't fit the crime, since they were previously found not guilty of another crime?

Really?
Let's not forget the first words out of the Judge's mouth today to OJ was....

"You, Mr. Simspon are BOTH ignorant and arrogant"!!! Yup, she is right and she is the Judge!!! ::yes::
I suspect that that statement will only help the appeal.

One would hope that a judge would have more self control than to make such a statement.

I had a friend in high school who's pregnant mother was murdered. Years later, her father was found guilty and sentenced to something like 25 years. I know that she always claimed his innocence even in the face of evidence that said he did it. I think the reality, the truth, was too hard for her to handle. :sad1: Her father died about 4 years later in prison from a heart attack.
I know a woman whose pastor father was once removed from his church for having sex with parishioner, was moved around
and went on to do it again in his next parish. By then, society had changed and he was defrocked. She still maintains his innocence to this day, even though he has admitted his guilt. One big reason is that her mother stayed with him. She feels that if her mother stayed with him he MUST be innocent because surely her mother has too much self-respect and dignity to stay with a man who cheated on her multiple times, breaking not only his marital vows but his vows as a clergyperson and subjected them to loss of income and public humiliation.

As for OJ, he can rot in jail for a traffic violation. His trials was a total miscarriage of justice and frankly, I blame not only the prosecution but the jurors, who needed their heads examined.

I have to ask, are you related to him? :rotfl:

I gotta ask, are you related to him? :rotfl:
Of course not, must I be related to him to have an opinion about fair sentencing?

You see, in this country, we have the rule of law. Very simply it means that you should only get punished for the crimes that you have been convicted of.

How doesn't it fit the crime? Kidnapping and armed robbery are pretty seriuos crimes. They deserve a stiff sentence. What should he have gotten? Some community service?

And what the judge said? I have heard of some worse things being said by judges at sentencings.

I have to ask, are you related to him? :rotfl:

Huh? Related to OJ?

Okay, never mind. You weren't directing that one at me. I was wondering what in my post would lead you to that. :rotfl2:

He was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and assualt. What the heck should his sentence have been? :confused3

Now, on InSession Live. I am SO enjoying seeing him looking like a scared, trapped animal. I hope he gets the maximum allowable sentence.

I couldn't agree more. I was about 13 when his murder trial was going on, and I can still remember his smug face every single day on tv that summer.

It was posted earlier that the sentence would be only probation for anyone else.

In New York it would definetly be a sentence.
Maybe Las Vegas is short of jail cells :confused3

How stupid can one person be? He's acquitted of murder, so instead of lying low for the rest of his life, he commits armed robbery. He got what he deserved.

I said it earlier and I will say it again BECAUSE OJ thinks he is ABOVE THE LAW!!!! Well that has now come to a HALT. Look below...it is OJ peeking out at all of you!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao:

One has nothing to do with the other.

Do I think he killed Nicole and Ron, yes, I do. But they found him, unfortunately, not guilty.

They should sentence him for this crime only.

I do think he is stupid to not have taken his "golden chance" 15 years ago and run with it, stayed clean, whatever, so I get the karma comment, I just don't think he should be sentenced with that in mind. He was arrogant and it caught up to him.

I don't think Big bubba will be able to get him at all because they said he will be in a private cell.

What ever happened to his kids with Nicole?

I'm confindent that the judge did only sentence him for this crime, as I don't think 30 with the possibility of parole in 7 is appropriate in 2 murder convictions.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Anyone care for a piece of chocolate? :lmao:

Naaaa...I disagree. He is not haunted. OJ does not have a CONSCIENCE. He is a pompus **** and feels that he is ABOVE THE LAW until TODAY!!! ::yes:: QUOTE]

ITA. I don't think he felt guilty at all about the murders. I think, in his crazy head, he felt he was justified, because he was better than everyone else.

Sure, some caller on the phone with a radio station said that. Not sure who he is though. Was a Nevada Lawyer?

Don't forget, OJ had a record. That also reflects on sentencing. (and that's not taking into account the murders)

If it were anyone else going in to get their personal stuff, especially after asking the FBI for assistance in retreiving it, and being told to "go get it"... they wouldn't have been charged with a crime.

Anyone who thinks this sentence and conviction is about the events which happened in a Las Vegas hotel room is mistaken, in my opinion.
Are you kidding? Wouldn't have been charged with a crime??? See next quote...
So, in Vegas, if you hold people against their will, brandish a gun and threaten them then you can only get off with probabtion? That is scary in itself. :scared1:

So, the FBI told him to kidnap and rob people at gun point? Yes, I know they didn't say for him to do that, but he did. He was found quilty and is being punished for it. Not everyone will agree with the sentence, but, I for one am glad that he is behind bars.
I have to ask, are you related to him? :rotfl:

A lot of people get all pissed at OJ for not being convicted at the first trial. I don't get that. The system worked as designed. He was found not guilty. If you want to be angry at someone, be angry at the prosecutors. They's the one who did a crummy job of things, assuming he was guilty.

the system has many faults ..... if you were wrongly convicted, or saw someone you KNEW had murdered someone close to you walk away aquitted for sure you would not be sitting back saying :

"I'm not pissed off, the system worked and he was aquitted, I cannot be angry at him"

I'm sure as snow falls in Alaska that you'd be mad and angry as hell!

and you'd be smiling your face off if they then committed another crime, found guilty and were sentenced accordingly.

I'm not racist in any way - I purely like seeing criminals behind bars paying for their crimes.

For O.J., yes P.F. Changs and other restaurants ARE living the high life when he should have been so happy to keep a low profile, live his life and be thankful every single day that he didn't go to prison for a murder. Instead, he was out golfing everyday, showing up at local football games, going out to bars and clubs, all the time laughing it up and telling stories to anyone who would listen (not me thank you)........but since he is so arrogant and thought that he could do anything he wanted, he did get exactly what he deserved....and ending up where he should be.....in prison.
