We have only stayed at Hard Rock so it was an easy walk to the event. I booked Cabana Bay to save some money. (Not eligible for a hotel discount since we are only staying one night)

How is it transportation wise to get to the parks from Cabana Bay?

Pretty good, you basically have 3 options. Buses go to the hotel, boats can be boarded across the street, and the walk isn't bad though after a night at the parks you may not want to keep walking. Plus due to the timing there's less rush getting there, there can be a bit of a wait getting back.

We haven't had any trouble with the Cabana Bay buses. The last time we stayed there, there were always 2-3 buses ready to get people to the parks.

Surprisngly very efficient. The only down side is having to go through security in the main hub.

To be clear that's only for the buses, if you walk there's a side security gate that is really quiet (probably not during rush hours but the rest of the day is walk in) and the boats check you when boarding.

I was hoping they would do a Mini Meetup again but it doesn't appear that's in the offing, everyone in our party last year really liked that.

I was hoping for that too, I will be in Orlando in December but only from 9th - 12th, no weekends, so I will miss the meetup this year.

Probably either that or the costs were higher than anticipated. I know people in my group of 9 liked it a lot.
