Ohio DVCers? Buckeyes check in here!

I'm not even sure where Stow is but I am getting the impression that it is opposite of where I am! If it is so small, how in the world are there so many people from here that are from there? Is it something in the water?;)

Not owners yet, have rented many many times and maybe, just maybe will talk hubby into it!! (Still trying)

Anyway--I work in Lima, OH, live in Delphos and graduated from Lincolnview!! My kids go to Jefferson....All of these neighbors I knew nothing about! Nice to chat with you here, and GO BUCKS!! :cheer2:

Hello from a Canfield gal via PA now! Nice to see someone from the local area! :thumbsup2

Hello to the Buckeye DVC'ers

We are from Cornersburg, Ohio. just outside of Youngstown.

We've been members since 2000 (VWL) added-on SSR in(2003) and talking about another add-on :cool1:
I want to thank Robin for starting this thread:wizard: I had
no idea there were so many Buckeye's on the site:confused3
but I'm glad to be a part.

Go Brown's

We have been working in Maryland for the past three year and still have our lovely Ohio home-can't wait to get back.

In Maryland they call it Black, Red and Grey......

They do not know about SCARLETT and Grey!:worship:

They obviously just don't get it!:cheer2:

I work at the local phone company here, been there 7 years. Hope to stay home with my kids while they are still young though!! And of course spend more time at Disney!

And to the gal in Maryland, definitely SCARLET and GRAY!! And I still wear my Appalacian State shirt that says: "WE BROUGHT DOWN THE BIG HOUSE!!" What an awesome game, only a Bucks fan could truly appreciate that game! :cool1:

I would be up for that.... we could have a mini DVC meet in STOW! Does everyone know where the Crooked River Grill is in Munroe Falls?

That is maybe 5 minutes from me. I am right on the Stow/Falls border between Graham and Front. If you or Figmentfan want to PM me, maybe we can make this work. There seems to be quite a few of us all within a couple of miles of one another!

I was born and raised in Lima!! OH how I love this thread!!

Graduated from Elida but brother and sis went to Bath. How about you?
Thats funny cause i graduated from Elida to and now i live in Bath

What year did you graduate? I just heard today that there are plans to tear down the old high school. That bums me out.

Salem, Ohio...................... South of Youngstown.

Stow, Cuyahoga Falls and Munroe Falls are all within a few miles of each other. We are about 10 miles north of Akron or about a half hour south of Cleveland. It's a nice area. It's not a small community by any means. I was surprised to see so many people from Stow/Falls that are DVC owners! I've heard of Mason, but I'm not sure where it's near.

Laxmom: The taxpayers passed the levy for Elida (after several failures) for the new high school. I think it will be good for them but I bet you're right, they probably will tear the old one down. They wanted an entire new school and the taxpayers would have none of it. Just wanted to let you know! They are building a new high school for Lincolnview also, and I feel the same way you do about the old bldg getting demolished...my dad and uncle graduated from there, and I have 4 brothers/sisters in our family and all of us graduated in that school. So all of those memories will be dust! We built a new elementary/middle school a few years ago and I must say, it is beautiful! I suppose it's needed, just sad for all of us that survived the "old school"!

We can see the fireworks from Kings Island every night through the trees. My kids school is adjacent to KI property. Yea, I know where Cuyahoga Falls is - used to have family up in Conneaut and Avon Lake - so that is familiar. Just don't know Stow.

I got an email yesterday from people beginning to plan our reunion and they stated that it will be gone by 2011 according to administration. They are planning on having our reunion at the school because of that. I am bummed because my Dad worked there too; he died several years ago. The new schools are beautiful but they just don't compare to the architecture of the old. I understand that they get to the point where it is more expensive to renovate than start over but it is still sad. Progress, I guess and if I had kids in the school district I would be happy.

I wish I lived as close to Kings Island as you do Laxmom, MY DF and I got engaged goin up backwards on the racer!

I am an Ohio DVC'er as well. Live outside of Toledo and have been a DVC member since 1998. Love it, live it and enjoy every point we own. Go to HHI at least one time each year (drive) and usually WDW once or twice (fly out of DTW) and try to take a cruise or two. Can you tell I love DVC....:cheer2:

Oldest son worked there for 3 years. Youngest won't because they make you get your hair cut!!

We used to get season passes and go over in the evening and ride a couple of rides.

That is a funny place for a proposal!! But very memorable!!!

I am with you, lah3hh, love those Mouse Cruises!!! We do HHI eoy but with our purchase of points -hopefully- we will be able to go every year.
