Ohana's

Does anyone know when you eat dinner at Ohana's do you get a Hawaiian lay?

:lmao: Thank you for the good belly laugh!! :rotfl:

I know you meant lei but it certainly caught my attention!

We have eaten twice at 'Ohana for dinner and the only person that got a lei was me because I participated in the hula lesson.

I thought the same thing when I read the post! I know it's not correct etiquette to correct grammar/spelling on the board, but in this case it kind of changes the meaning of the original post quite a bit! ;)

We got them last year, but we were celebrating. The table next to us (also celebrating) also got leis. Might depend on the server.

this thread really deserves to be declared "funniest thread without trying" :rotfl2:

Did not want it to be a funny thread......Just a question was asked ......my ds has seen pic and was just wanting to know if he would get one. Just thought I ask people who have been there.

Sorry

Oh well.................. guess i spelled it wrong..... and my head was not in the gutter when I wrote this so sorry guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No wonder it's so hard to get a reservation there!! ;)

Good catch - very funny.

We stay at the Poly and get a lei on checkin but have never received one at 'Ohana. But as others have said, head down to the front desk and ask for one. I am sure you will not be refused. I have gone back and asked for extras when Mousekeeping threw ours out once by mistake.

We ate there twice, we received them twice, it was my son's birthday. They asked everyone who was celebrating a birthday to raise their hands and the Lady MC walked around giving them out. She gave them to those celebrating anniversary's as well as the children who did the hula. Just ask, I don't think you'll have a problem. With that said, if you are really concerned, go to a local party store and bring one with you. Don't let your son see it and give it to the server to give to him. :thumbsup2

We asked our server 2 years ago about them and he told us that guest staying at the Poly got them. I explained that my sister wanted one very badly and he brought her one after a while. But he was not a pleasant server so maybe he was just making an excuse for not being nice and us noticing it.

We have stayed at the Poly twice (2004, 2006) and kept our leis after getting them in 2004. We wore them on the plane going to WDW in 2006 (along with our Hawaiian shirts), but took them off when we got on Magical Express, so that we could get lei-ed again.

Now we still have those, and will wear them in 2010 for our next trip. We find that wearing them (along with lime green Mickeys on our backpacks) ensures that grumpy people ignore you, and Disney people engage you, on your trip down.

We have also gotten them at the Spirit of Aloha luau, but never at Ohana. But, why not go down to the front desk and simply ask for them before checking in with the host/hostess station at Ohana's? I can't imagine that they would not give them to you.
