I am so confused!!! I really dont know which one to choose.....

What do you think I should pick???

Thanks

That's a great question! I haven't been to either one of these, but I was thinking about giving one of these a try on my next trip to WDW. I hear wonderful things about both. I know that Ohana has Polynesian foods, the Wave seems to be more health-conscious contemporary food. But I would love to also hear a recommendation from those who've been to either. I am wondering how Ohana is for vegetarians.

I have only eaten at the Wave a few times for lunch.
Personally I would go for Ohana's between these two choices.

I've never been to the Wave, but Ohanas was so great we have another ADR made for our trip in Nov. (and skipping out on the opportunity to experience something new that night).

We were last at Ohanas 2 years ago and what I remember was there was such a huge variety of foods. If memory serves me, I bet I had the opportunity to sample 14 or more different foods between appetizers, salads, main dishes, side dishes, meats, and deserts. And it was delicious!

I don't think you'd regret Ohana's.

always seem to be the lone voice here. DD & I did NOT like Ohana last year at all. I have posted why on other threads & won't go into it for fear of being flamed again. We did not like Ohana, would not try it again and have ADRs at the Wave for our next trip. You don't say whether or not you have kids as that is probably a consideration.

gosh they are vvery different!! we had a fab meal at The wave last week... which was amazing... i love Ohana too but its not in the same league as The Wave. Its a very different atmosphere. Ohana is more family style - food is plentiful and good - but very high on protein (delicious!) - The wave is more of a fine dining restaurant...

Hi...thanks for your opinions.....Yes, I have 2 children ages 2 and 8.....
pooch--can you send me the link to your review of Ohana....

Thanks so much!!

They're two totally different experiences so it depends on what you're looking for.

If you're looking for a fun and exciting time with crazy dancing, etc and all you can eat mediocre food? Ohana's.

If you're looking for a nice quiet, relaxed, sit down restaurant with very good food? Wave

I took my kids ages 14 & 9 to Ohana's in January, and we loved it. You do get plenty to eat, as the food comes out in "waves", first bread, then salad, then potstickers, noodles, and then they bring around meats which have been roasted on a revolving spit (you can watch them cooking the meats which is cool). Later comes the shrimp, which is peel and eat, then dessert. We thought the food was above average, and left very happy and full. They have an "Auntie", that invites the kids to dance around doing the limbo, and sometimes they pass out leis. We were off to the side, and neither of my kids wanted to participate, but it was fun to watch from the sidelines. If you think this is the kind of dinner you and your kids would enjoy, then I say make you ADR quickly, since it is very popular and sometimes difficult to get an ADR. The wave also sounds nice - there are no windows inside, so to me it would be like sitting in a tunnel. Choose what you think you will like best. I think you could have a great dinner at either! Enjoy!

Sorry, it was a reply to some other thread & I don't remember which. Basically, we did not like the pace of the meal and felt that things were just randomly dropped on our table, the waiter was totally disengaged so it was difficult to get him to slow down. None of the food was memorable & we found the entertainment borderline annoying. Understand that we were 2 adults & maybe this was not the best choice for us. We ate almost nothing & couldn't get out fast enough!!

We were at O'Hana with kids (11 & 9) two years ago & .....blah! Service, ah....Food, blech....entertainment, nothing to write home about.....Just not an enjoyable experience for us but we know lots of families like it so obviously it is subjective.

As for the Wave, we will be going in three & a half weeks!!!!!

I think with little kids, they might prefer O'Hana but I suspect the adults *might* prefer the Wave.
