Trying to make a list of place to eat. So glad I read about the Luau before talkin' it up to my travel buddy!! I didn't realize it was a show. Not something we would want.

O'Hana is excellent. It is reasonably priced and the food is very good. Your meal consists of: several wonderful appetizers, a salad, rice and then skewers of turkey, pork, beef and shrimp with dipping sauces, the peanut dipping sauce is wonderful. For dessert there is fresh pineapple with a carmel dipping sauce. You can eat as much as you want, there are games for the kids, music, fireworks viewing from MK and the electrical water parade viewing from the beach, if you time it right . Great place, try it, you'll love it!!

Ohanas is so good.

My DH is a picky eater and he never eats chicken unless it is breaded. He tried their corriander wings and couldn't get enough of them.

They have all you can eat shrump, steak, turkey and pork as well as a bunch of appetizers.

Pineapple and caramel sauce for dessert.

This is one of the places we will be returning to for our September trip.

The night we were there none of us really liked it. The wings were excellent and we liked the rice, but the meats were dry and we found all of the dipping sauces too sweet for our taste. It was a big disappointment, because it sounded SO good.

We ate there a couple weeks ago (family of 5-kids 16, 13, and 10) everyone loved their meal, and we had a great window table:D

no, GREAT! DH is a major carnivore and this will now be a must-do on every trip! Kids also enjoyed it.

It's great for those of us doing the low-carb diet! LOTS of protein!

Just one problem with Ohana's. I never really get over to the Poly. We were there for the luau once, we stoped there to walk around once. In all our many trips, those were the only times we ever had occaision to be there. Our last trip was a Poly concierege stay, while my future concierge stays will be at AKL, we will be getting back to the Poly, probably pretty often.

During that stay we visited Ohana's and now we are going to have to add another restaruant to our list of regulars. It was great. Dry meat? They must have good days and bad or good servers and bad, our meal was fantastic. They would brong whatever you wanted whenever you wanted and leave as big a pile as you wanted. IT was all great.

We tried Ohana's for the first time in April. All I can say is YUMMY. Everything was excellent. My 2 yr old DS loves rice and chicken, so this worked out great for him. My niece usually eats a few bites and says she is full. She stuffed herself at this meal. I can't wait for my DH and my nephew to try it February. :D

During our Nov. 2001 trip we had PS for our very first night's dinner. After reading the boards we felt like this would be a great place to kick off our vacation. We had 9 in our party and agreed to split up in order to be seated more quickly. We ended up waiting 2 hours to be seated!!!! We were afraid to leave and go anywhere else because we were hungry and didn't have PS elsewhere. Turns out the 2 hour wait was because they decided to seat us all 9 of us together. There was apparantly a communication problem, because we would have been fine with two tables even if we weren't close together.

After waiting 2 hours the food was dissapointing. All of our meats were very dry and I didn't have anything there that is the least bit memorable. My SIL and myself had been talking up this place the entire day because we had heard so many great things about it. All of the adults agreed that it was overpriced and the food just was that great.

We had a much better meal a few nights later at Whispering Canyon and didn't even need PS. My DH and I were able to get last minute PS at the Hollywood & Vine Character breakfast and found the meal here better than O'hana's has well. O'hana was the worst food we had that trip.

There's a part of me that would like to give O'hana another try since it seems we must of just been there on a bad night, but I don't think my DH would ever agree to pay that much again for something that was pretty bad the first time.

Our experience with 'Ohana was somewhere in the middle of all these. Good, just not great. The rice, vegies, wontons and wings were wonderful. The steak was flavorful, but tough. The turkey was good. We didn't like the pork at all. The shrimp was spicy and delicious, but messy and hard to peel. If it had been easier to eat, we would've had a ton of it!
We really wanted to like 'Ohana but were kind of disappointed. Not sure if we'll try it again.

We tried Ohanna for the first time in Jan and loved it. It is now on our must do list. Great grilled meats and fish with sides!

We have mixed feelings about Ohanas. Our first visit wasn't great. Very poor service. Had a hard time getting the waiter to come by with any food and glasses sat empty even after requesting refills, but we really liked the food. OUr 2nd try was a few weeks ago. Service was better, it just seemed that the wait staff is very overwhelmed, they are trying to do it all, get drinks, serve the meats, collect checks . Once again we enjoyed the food, especially the shrimp, but it took forever. Not sure if we will go again or not. It was convenient when we were staying at the Poly, not sure if we would make a special trip over there for it.

I've only been there once (May03) and I was not impressed. While everything on the Lazy Susan was good, the meats were about a tender and juicy as lumps of coal. They were black, dry, and tough. No amount of dipping sauce could save them. It was horrible and way overpriced.

we ate there last may and loved it. the starters/side are great. The beef was a bit dry but the shrimp and pork were wonderful. I think my then 4 DD ate 2 dozen shrimp.

We will try it! I'm wondering if time of day had anything to do with
whether it was good or not.
Is it a buffet or do you order entres?

iti s all you can eat , brought to the table. They bring out a lazy susan with the starters. Then they will start coming around with 3ft (? I think that is right) skewers of meat. Each meat will be on differnt skewers.

After our last trip - O'hana has become our favorite WDW restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. It is a little loud, but it was worth it for the food. My favorite was the shrimp and steak skewers and my wife liked the turkey and pork best of all.

Neither - everyone eats the same thing brought to your table, but it is all you can eat. Steak, shrimp, turkey and pork loin cooked over an open firepit on long 3 ft. skewers accomponied by various side dishes and dipping sauces for the meat. Ended meal with fresh pineapple and caramel dipping sauce.
