O'hana's Breakfast- Worst Character Meal we have done!

That sounds like a nightmare. I just booked 'Ohana for breakfast for my twins' third bday. Our ADR is for 7:50a, so maybe we'll be better off at an earlier time. I hope they don't take forever because we have a 10:10a time at BBB. That seems like a long time, but I know how character meals tend to suck up time.

I recommend you arrive at 7:30 for your ADR just to be safe. If you don't have a car and you're running a bit behind you can utilize a taxi to make it to your BBB appt. on time.

We love Ohana, we have never had a problem and it is one of the meals we go to every single trip.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I can understand how hard it must have been on your little one. We've never done Ohanas--we are not big fans of family style and we don't care for Stitch, so we've avoided it.

This was our favorite character breakfast last trip. We had great service, great food - all came out hot. Asked for more fruit and received it quickly. Same goes for the fabulous juice. Can't wait to go again.

Sorry it was bad for you. Like any restaurant they were probably having an off day.

We have eaten at Ohana's 3 times. twice were very good experiences, and once was like yours. We were there for over an hour and only saw Stitch, our server was very slow and we had to ask for more waffles and juice (that's my favorite part!) and we were seated in the most desolate, dark part of the restaurant it was depressing! :rotfl: We ended up leaving even though we had only seen one character. I didn't want to waste a precious park day waiting for the rest of the characters. We are giving it another chance next month, so fingers crossed!

Oh wow I am sorry to hear that! This is my favorite breakfast going for the 3rd time in November. One time it was for my HS graduation and they took the time to have Stitch bring me a flowered lay. It made it so much more special and the food has always been great! Hopefully this was just a one time deal.

I'm sorry you had such a terrible experience there. We were there in September and had a wonderful experience. Our food was delicious, we arrived early and were seated quickly and the characters were great. All of us thought this was our best breakfast. Compared to Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's, it was outstanding in all areas. We loved not having to go get our food and worry about missing a character. I hope you'll try it again and have a better experience.

Bummer about your experience. DH and I did Ohana in Aug at 7:30 right when they opened and everything went on without a hitch.

We are going back again in January with our nieces and booked a 9am ressie....I would love to do the 7:30 one again but the girls are going to get up early enough!

We have always loved the Charac. Breakfast there and we also have done a lot of them. It's one of the reasons that we stay at the Poly is for Ohana's. Hmmmmm. It is always busy though.

My intention is not to insult Floridian breakfasts, but I do not care for their Southern style of breakfast. I am constantly disappointed with the service, quality and taste of the breakfasts in Orlanda. I am glad to see that we're not alone!

"Southern style of breakfast" means a full breakfast, usually with grits, biscuits and gravy, hush puppies, etc.

Maybe you are meaning "family style" in which bowls of food are placed on the table and each individual helps themselves to whatever items they wish in whatever portion they wish.

Family style is not common in US restaurants but was (or is) the way a typical dinner is served at home.

Oh, thats a shame. We were there 10 days ago and really enjoyed the food, the service and characters! We did wait about 25mins after our ADR time to be seated. But really enjoyed it!

xx

OH NO!, I hope it isn't that bad, we have ressies for Oct 23 at 7:50. Maybe the earlier the ressie the better?? I will let ya know when we return.

We've been twice and both times the service was slow. The wait staff was under staffed and stingy with seconds. The characters were o.k. We're skipping it this coming trip. But we'll go again another time I'm sure; it wasn't horrible just slow. The food was good both times. I'd suggest requesting seconds as soon as you get your first serving as it seemed to to about 15 minutes for the second portion to arrive. Get a carafe of coffee instead of waiting on refills.

We did not like it either. It was SO slow, our food wasn't even warm and the characters were spread too thin.

This is the ADR I am most worried about. We have a 7:50 AM here one morning on our trip. My kids are super excited and really could care less about the breakfast as a whole but will want OJ and Mickey Waffels and to meet the characters, of course. I have heard consistently bad reviews for here and am very nervous. I guess we are prepared for the worst, but hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Our experience at the breakfast has been very hit or miss, too. The first time, breakfast was awesome, character interaction was great, service was good. Although, we were put in that "dark" spot someone earlier mentioned. But, hey, close to the restrooms in that spot, so I guess there was a positive even there.

We went again a few months later, same time even, and our experience was terrible. Just like what the folks here are saying, slow service, stingy on seconds, waiting over an hour for the first character to make its way to our table -- all the while still waiting on seconds for coffee and juice.

Now I understand when I read on the DIS how about half the reports are bad and half are good.

We won't return to 'Ohana. We tried the Tusker House breakfast this time and loved it.
