'Ohanas at 7-Will we like it?

I just got a PS for 'Ohanas at 7pm on 3-29. The fireworks are at 8 that night, that should be a good time to get a good view of the show shouldn't it? We will have 3 kids between the ages of 15 and 20, we have never been there do you think they will enjoy it or is it more for younger kids? I guess they really aren't all kids but I think of them as kids!

I think they will like it.
The food is very good. It is served family style and the servers continuously bring out grilled beef, pork, turkey and shrimp on big skewers.
With the fireworks view it should be very special.

Everyone should enjoy it. My opinion is that it is a nice restaurant with great food that they added a few activities to in order to keep the younger kids happy. It is not a "more for kids" restaurant. But it is great fun to watch the kids when one of the activities is going on.

We just dined there about 2 weeks ago for the first time. We LOVED it! Our 19 y.o. son was in his glory with the family style dining.
We also requested a window seat, and had a perfect view of the castle and fireworks while we ate.

I just requested it when we checked in at the podium that evening. They initially told us that we would have to wait about 20 minutes but they called us in about 10 minutes.
It really was a memorable experience. Each one of us agreed that this meal was the highlight of our trip.

I think you will really enjoy O'Hanas and the fireworks will make it even better. The main courses of various meats is great but I also really enjoy the dumplings and the salad. The lime dressing is a bit different and tasty. We're definitely going here on our next trip.

We ate at 'Ohanas on the 12th of January. We had a 6 PM PS for a party of 12. We arrived at 6 PM and were seated within 10 minutes. Our table was in the center of the main dining room and had a great view of the castle. The fireworks were scheduled for 7 PM that night. So from 6-7 PM, we filled up on yummy food (love their shrimp wontons!) and the kids participated in the games. You can't go wrong by eating a meal at 'Ohana. Enjoy!

The shrimp is the best at O'hana's. You can stay and eat as long as you like. My friend and I were having a shrimp eating contest: he beat me but not by much, 101 shrimp for him and 75 for me. We have friends that still talk about that night.
The fresh pineapple and caramel sauce is a very good topper to an excellent meal.

So if I wanted to see the fireworks during dinner is the general rule to make ps 1 hour before fireworks start?

How do you find out when the fireworks start when your're going down? I see here some say 7:00 and others say 8:00. What time does the Water Parade come by, does it come by in the winter? I think this would be a really nice idea.

The Electrical Water Parade appears at the Polynesian at 9:00 all year round unless the MK fireworks are at 9:00 in which case it starts immediately after the fireworks end. It is cancelled if the weather is really bad...not cold but wind and rain.

Ohana's is wonderful! I'm 24 (a Big Kid!) and I loved it!

I am not positive, but I believe the fireworks are scheduled at MK closing.

WE HAVE DINED AT O'HANAS THREE TIMES ALWAYS TO SEE THE FIREWORKS. ITS BEEN GREAT EACH AND EVERY TIME. THEY DIM THE LIGHTS AND PLAY THE MUSIC FROM THE MK. IF YOU TIME IT RIGHT THEY HAVE A HULA HOOP EVENT AND COCONUT ROLLING CONTEST WITH BROOMS FOR THE KIDS. ALL THE KIDS ARE WINNERS WITH I BELIEVE GUMMY WORMS.
