Ohana's and Wishes

Hi All!

I was just wondering what time would be good to book Ohanas for; and then have time to get to the Poly beach to watch Wishes.

I would book Ohanas pretty early as both times we have been (and I hear this is fairly common) we have a long ADR wait - the first time was nearly an hour

They pipe the music in dim the lights so you can also watch Wishes from the restaurant

Thankyou! I've actually made a ressie for 6.45, but DS said it was too early Sounds like I've probably got it about right!

It really depends on your server. In Dec. we had 2 ADRs both for 6.45. The first ADR we got there and were seated early (around 6.15) we had a perfect view of the castle and thought that we'd be able to watch Wishes from the restaurant. However we had an excellent waiter who didn't waste any time getting our food out. We still figured that we'd be able to watch Wishes as we were having a birthday celebration, so we were having a cake. Anyway we were out of there and at the beach well before Wishes started. The second ADR we were seated around 6.40, this time we had no view of the castle and of course, wouldn't you know, we had a much slower waiter, so obviously it took longer! We did manage to get down to the beach for some of Wishes but we didn't see the beginning.

So I would say that your ADR is definitely not too early and if you don't get the really slow server should just be about right!

Thankyou! I feel much happier about it now, though if we did get out early, we could just have a wander around. I love the Poly, and as I'm not a great dessert person (I think it's some sort of pudding at Ohana's), maybe I could fit in a dole whip!!!

often if we have time to kill we will walk over to the grand floridan, and the walk back. Its a nice way to gently work off some of the food!!!

We had a 9:50pm reservation at Ohana's last tuesday. It was fantastic! We totally forgot about the fireworks at Magic Kingdom, and didnt even realise we would be able to see them anyway, but as we sat down, ordered drinks, the lights dimmed and the music started, and, luckily, we were right by the window so we saw the whole thing! Im now of the opinion that its actually more enjoyable to watch the fireworks sitting down having food rather than crushed with everyone in the park Unfortunatley we couldnt see the castle from the restuarant, which was the only downside

Ohh, and the food really is great! I cant wait to go back next year
