Ohana's and Wishes Question

We will be eating at Ohana's for dinner June 16th for our Forever Family Day. This is a special celebration for our family as it is the anniversary of when our daughters became sisters through adoption.

For this special celebration, I would really like to get a window seat for Wishes, but I am not sure when the best time is for an ADR to coincide with the fireworks, or how you get lucky enough to get a window seat facing the castle. DOesn't everyone request to sit by the window?

Right now, the only late dinner they had is at 9:30, so I took that. If we were seated right away *and* were able to get window seats this would probably be perfect for Wishes, but I have heard the wait to be seated can be 30 - 40 minutes long. Should we try for an earlier reservation and then just watch Wishes from the beach? What is the secret to getting a fireworks view?

Thank you for your help!

I think your 9:30 time is pretty good. I suppose if you are worried about getting seated on time - try to move it to 9 or 9:15 if you can. If you can't move the ADR - show up early for your 9:30 ADR. Actually, since you would like to request a window seat - that's another reason to show up early for your ADR. Give them some time to honor your request - they will if they can.

That's a tough question to answer. What we've done in the past is have dinner first and then watch Wishes from the beach at Poly but that's just us. I can tell you that every time we've eaten at O'hana, we've had at least a thirty minute wait, even with ADR's. It's a very popular restaurant.

Whatever you decide to do, I hope you and your family have a wonderful vacation and family celebration. :flower3:

It's impossible to predict whether you'll be able to get a seat near the windows or how close to your ADR time you'll actually get seated. I've been seated within 5 minutes of my ADR and I've been seated 80 minutes after my ADR time.

The only way to guarantee a good view of Wishes is to go to the Poly beach, or the 4th floor observation deck of the Contemporary, or actually enter the park.

If you do get a seat in time for Wishes, and you do get a seat at the windows, only a small percentage of the seats in the restaurant have good views. The rest are only partial views.

We had this time slot before; and I can assure you those with the window seats will not leave until the fireworks are over. We were stuck in the waiting lounge area when the fireworks were going on. Once the fireworks were done about half the restaurant empties out.

i would go way early and hope to catch wishes and if we have good seat and the timing is right we stay if not finish your dinner and just go downstairs and the beach is 2 min walk and the beach and wishes is the best i think better than inside ohanas the breeze the water the sand

Thank you all for your great advice! We are definately going to try for an earlier ADR time (no luck so far) and then go to the Poly beach for Wishes. 9:30 dinner is too late for my youngest, but we are planning to go back to the room at about 2:00 so we can swim and rest up for the evening fireworks.

Thank you again for all your help! NOw if anyone has any ideas for how to snag an earlier ADR please let me know:goodvibes
