We are planning a trip for May 2006, I am still trying to decide dining plan or no dining plan. We had it last year and loved it, but this year my hot dog eating DS will be 10. Last year we went to Ohanas and really liked it and would like to go again, even with the menu changes. So my question is will my DS 10 be charged the adult price ($22 ish) for ordering a hot dog and fries off the kids menu? He is a very picky eater and will not eat the adult food.

When we went in August my DS11 just didn't like any of the food (I was actually surprised) I asked the CM if I could order him some chicken fingers & he said he's not suppossed to but would get them for us. On the bill we were only charged the kids meal price $6?. I don't know if this is normal but we were pleasantly surprised & tipped extra.

I don't know why that CM told you he wasn't supposed to give them to you. 'Ohana allows kids to order whatever kids meals Kona offers. We have eaten at 'Ohana maybe 15 times in the last 4 years and always get DD a hot dog and fries there. We just tell the server that DD will have the kids meal and tell him which one. We are also only charged for the kids meal price that Kona charges. "Ohana has always allowed you to order kids meals. Sounds like your waiter didn't know what he was talking about.

Just last week at Ohana's my daughter had both mac & cheese & chicken fingers with fries - all for 10.99

Hi -

We went in early October and prior to our trip I asked a similar question. My DS is a very picky eater and I knew that we would be ordering from Kona for him. :earsboy:

My DS is 6 so it may be different for your son, but we were allowed to order from Kona (no problems what so ever and our waiter was VERY accomodating) and we were charged the kids price for what his meal would of cost if he had eaten the Ohana food. I think it was $10.99 or $12.99. All he ate was the chicken fingers and fries so it would not of cost that much had we been charged the Kona price.

When I asked my question back in September I was told that when others had requested something from Kona they were charged the actual Kona cost...not for us and I didn't question it.

By the way the new Ohana menu is great!!!! Make sure you save room for the banana bread pudding!
