ohana's and fireworks

How was it? Was it a good viewing from there?

The viewing is fine, but it's just fireworks from this distance...Perhaps the overall feeling is greater from within the MK...

I actually preferred viewing Wishes from 'Ohana to viewing it in the Magic Kingdom. We saw Wishes the night it debuted at the MK and realized as soon as it started that we didn't have a very good position. We were able to move around some to see it better, but it's definitely best to see these fireworks from directly in front of the castle. We lucked into seeing them again two nights later at 'Ohana, and definitely enjoyed the second viewing more. They piped the narration into the restaurant, which was much easier to hear than in the open air at MK. I didn't have to focus on listening as much, which I thought made it easier to enjoy the fireworks.

If what lovespugs says is true (and I have no reason to doubt it) then Wishes isn't anything to write home about, IMO. It's certainly longer than FIS was and there are some new & impressive pyrotechnics but the soundtrack is lame and all in all I guess it's still just fireworks...

We saw wishes 3 times on our trip. Once from the beach from the Poly which was okay but no music, once from 'Ohana which had music but not the best view. By this time I was not very impressed and didn't think I needed to see it again but we happened to be at Magic Kingdom one night when they started and decided to stay and watch. We had a great view and could hear perfect and I have to tell you that it was one of the most magical experiences of our trip. There was nothing lame about the narration!!! Definitely worth seeing up close!

good if the schedule is anything like Dec. we'll ge to see it in the park first then maybe Ohana later
