Am I missing something by not dining at OHANA? I stayed at Poly. last Oct., and passed by and even looked around the rest., but didn't eat there. I need an experienced opinion on the place, atmosphere, food etc., anything you have to say would be appreciated.

My family and I enjoy it ...

We went many years on the el cheapo plan, but a couple years ago decided to splurge. We all really liked it and have gone back.

We loved it when we ate there in December!!! The food was so good and the service was great. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary, so no kids, but the kids that were there were having a great time. They had games for them to play and lots of activities to keep them entertained. We won't be missing eating there again. It is now on our "must do" list for every trip. Well worth the money when you see all that you get.

I agree.. We did it on our Feb trip and its now a must do! we missed it in Oct b/c that trip was so short.. But when we go next year.. its a must do for sure!

Atmosphere.. very good, they have a dance floor type thing where kids to hola hoop races etc.
Food .. YUMMMY!
Drinks.. YUMMY!
Desert.. YUMMY!

and if you time it right you can see Wishes while you eat!

We finally got there after 4 trips where I wanted to but somehow we just did not get there. Most recently the Hurricane last summer. However it was definately worth the wait. My mom and I are planning to bring my dad here next year because we enjoyed it so much.

I thought I would hate it but DH wanted to go. Well, we both loved it!!
I thought I wouldn't like the food but, it was all so tasty and the meat was all so tender. We had a great seat by the window looking at the castle. The service was great and we will definately be going back!!

We had overlooked this on all our previous trips as well, but this past summer I ante'd up and made a PS.. WE LOVED IT. DH insisted we eat there a second time, so we started and ended our 10 days at Ohanas. There is something for everyone but it is definitely a meat lover's experience. However, the "meat" can be shrimp, chicken, pork, or steak...any one or all. It will always be on our must-do list for upcoming trips.
My advice is to try anything once, you have to decide for yourself. :cool1: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

...We eat there EVERY trip....if there is any chance we will run out of time...we eat there first!!!....

I had peeked in a few times myself, but never tried it. After hearing so much about it on the Dis, I decided I had to try it about a year ago. I was not disappointed. Everything was great. We have since gone back once, and Im sure we will again.

I thought it was overpriced, particularly for the selection of food. They bring out, what, six items on the lazy susan....rice, won ton, wings, green beans, salad...there was nothing that I thought was out of the ordinary. Then they start to bring the skewers around....turkey, steak & shrimp were very good and the pork was dry to us all. We had to beg to get more than two pieces of each. It was crowded and the wait staff was busy. My DH finally insisted on more than 2 shrimp at a time so he didn't have to wait so long. My DH & DS (15) enjoyed being carnivores. My DD (10) thought the children's games were very babyish and wanted nothing to do with it, and I didn't enjoy having coconuts batted along the floor behind my chair. Had I known I would have requested a table away from the games.

JUST MY OPINION, I know lots of people love it.

Our favorite breakfast - mine, really - is at Ohana :goodvibes
Before one of our trips, someone suggested something, but they said that it was not included in the breakfast buffet and that you have to pay extra for it.
I have also tried to recreate it at home, but I cannot.
it is............

Tonga Toast is The Most Muy Delicioso Food that has entered into my mouth.

My second favorite is my friend's grandmother's homemade ravioli.

Tonga Toast is the most deeeeeeelicious
Banana Stuffed Cinnamon Sugar Encrusted 3 inch thick French Toast
.......Oh God, I Need A Fix  :faint:  :faint:

i wasn't that impressed. i didn't like the atmosphere as much as other places, and the food was unmemorable. i got some great pictures with my favorite guy, Chip, though - that was all that really made it worthwhile to me. i wouldn't go back.

The first year we loved this place. However last year everything was dry including the pineapple for dessert. We will probably skip it for a year or two and then give it another try. It might have been an off night. DH does enjoy the games and the gummie worms! princess: pirate: :earboy2:

We did it twice in December '03 - both dinner and breakfast and enjoyed both very much. I would definately go back in the future for either meal.

Our favorite place at Disney. They do have an off night every now and then but that seems to be rare. I would definately recommend trying it if you have the opportunity.

We tried it for the first time 3 trips ago and it's now a must for every trip. We've only eaten dinner there though and have always found it great. We don't take our kids with us (all are older teens and twenties) but we like watching the kids with the coconuts etc. The service and food have always been great.

LOVE it! It's my favorite...mmmm...shrimp wantons...yum! We went for the first time in 2002, then went back in 2003 and will be going back in December! I can't wait to get one of those drinks that come in a pineapple...I wanted to get one so bad last time but I was pregnant so couldn't.

Are desserts extra? On the Allears.net menu it lists a price of $24.99 and says "includes coffee, tea, or soda." The desserts have a price. I'm assuming that means you pay extra for dessert, but I could have sworn someone wrote about dessert that comes with the meal.

Ohana's was my favorite restaurant. The food was good. The atmosphere was excellent. We had a great waitress. The mood was light an relaxed. Some of the steak I got was perfect and some was a little chewy. The only thing that we didn't like was the nasty coconut bread :crazy2: The sauces wre excellent. I loved the beans and the salad. Oh I wish I was there now. The frozen drinks were the best! I think anyone would like this restaurant. The meats are pretty plain and you dress them up with the yummy sauces.

Off to neverland- it comes with fresh pineaplle that you dip in a super yummy carmel sause. you may also choose a different selection of desserts at an additional cost. Try it!

It's a great place to eat and I love just sitting by a window and overlooking the Lagoon. When the food comes around be sure to grab extra of what you like because sometimes if the place is busy you might have to wait. I love the tiger shrimp that they serve on the grill and when it comes around I grab my fair share, same with the steak! LOL! If you want something more to eat be sure to ask because it's easy for the server to get real busy. All around it seems to be a good deal and I hope you like it! ::MickeyMo
